Mark Clayton left Sunday's game in the first quarter on a stretcher after suffering a right knee injury.

Clayton ran a deep route down the left sideline with Alphonso Smith in coverage when his knee gave out. Non-contact injuries are never good, and the fact that Clayton didn't even try to get up and walk after sitting on the turf for several minutes isn't a good sign. We almost certainly won't see him again today. Brandon Gibson has entered opposite Laurent Robinson.

Mark Clayton exited the game at Detroit in the first quarter with an ankle injury.

Our View: Clayton appeared to roll his right ankle and the medical staff has placed an air cast on it. We will provide additional updates as they become available, but it certainly appears that Clayton is done for the day.

Mark Clayton confirmed Sunday that the right knee injury he suffered in the Rams' Week 5 loss to Detroit is season-ending.

Brian Stull of 101 ESPN St. Louis reports that it may be a patellar tendon tear. If so, Clayton would likely require reconstructive knee surgery -- an operation that would threaten to sap his value on the 2011 free agent market after what was setting up as a breakout season. The injury may spur the Rams' interest in Vincent Jackson. Still not out of the NFC West race at 2-3, St. Louis needs to surround Sam Bradford with weapons to fulfill his potential. I just Dropped Bell for Amendola , is it worth it to pick up Vincent Jackson just in case the Rams go after him???

Amendola got Clayton's targets after Clayton went down. If the Rams don't go after jackson or another WR, Amendola looks like the replacement pick up.
