Realistic Trades to improve at running back

Postby jackarmani » Tue Oct 12, 2010 2:37 pm

Looking to improve my team at running back, in a non-ppr (6 points for all TDs). I've made one trade so far this year: I traded Jahvid best, Steve Smith (Car) and Brett Favre for Tony Romo and Hakeem Nicks (steal).

My team now looks like this:

QB: Romo, Gradkowski (i know i need better depth)
RB: Peterson, Moreno, Brandon Jackson, Beanie Wells, Shonne Green
WR: Roddy White, Randy Moss, Hakeem Nicks, Jeremy Maclin
TE: Dustin Keller
K: Neil Rackers
DST: Falcons (I play the matchup wire on DST)

After peterson i'm not sold on any of my other running backs, moreno is oft injured, jackson just doesn't get the carries, wells splits time with hightower and Green is now 2nd fiddle to LT.

Given my rediculous depth at WR (4 of the top 20 scoring WRs), I was thinking patching one of them with a running back and seeing if i could grab a top rb and a lower down wr back (maybe throw in 2 rbs if needed). But i always seem to aim too high and get rejected and no counters

So far i have sent out the following offers (none rejected yet), which could be accepted?

1) Arian Foster and Andre Johnson for Randy Moss, Moreno and Maclin. (He has michael turner and ahmad bradshaw at rb and no other good receivers).

2) Chris Johnson, Zach Miller and Steve Smith (NYG) for Moreno, Dustin Keller and Hakeem Nicks (Gives him 2nd highest scoring TE and top scoring WR for the drop to moreno. He has Mcfadden and Lesean Mccoy at rb too)

3) Cedric Benson and Santana Moss for Randy Moss and Brandon Jackson (he has marion barber and pierre thomas at rb and quite literally noone at wr, his 2nd starter is kevin walters and doesn't have a backup)

Any tips guys?

players will not trade unless they believe there gettin an amazing deal. i wouldnt recommend basing your trades on amazing players and thinking they will accept because they have good depth at the position, like the C johnson trade. Alot of Ryan Matthews owners are really down on him so you could possibly get a good trade for him. I expect him to breakout soon. I would go for matthews, benson, maybe hillis. Dont ask for more than the 1 player your looking at also. Why would they trade 2 of their best players for 3 descent players?
