Rodgers on the Block (WHIR)

Postby panjam » Tue Oct 12, 2010 3:27 pm

10 team non keeper, QB heavy league (2 starting QBs, 6pts/TD). I'm currently in 1st, with the following roster:

QB : Romo, Henne, S. Hill (2 starters)
WR : Fitzgerald, Maclin, Santana Moss, Crabtree (3 starters)
RB : MoJo, Foster, Forte, McCoy, Charles (2 starters)
TE : T. Gonzalez
D : Pitt

I've been trying to move a RB for a QB for a couple weeks & now Rodgers is available - best deal within the next couple days takes him. He wants 2 RBs or 1RB/1QB for him.

What is Rodgers value now, given the injury & loss of J. Finley?
What combination of players could make this trade work?

I don't think either Forte/Henne or McCoy/Charles gets it done.

Thanks.

Even with the concussion and the loss of Finley for a few weeks, Rodgers is still an elite QB... and that trumps everything in your starting/scoring setup, including elite RBs. And you're going to need a QB when Stafford comes back.

I would offer Charles/Forte first... but I would be willing to give up Foster instead of Forte if I had to -- you have the RBs to pull it off.

I would keep Romo as my starting QB but if your bent on getting Rodgers, then trade Romo and Forte for him. Just remeber he has a concussion and might just get another with that Oline.

I would be content with Romo as well. Keep all your studs and roll with Romo!

You will need to move Romo for that to work because I would not want the other two QBs you have.

So my 3 offers got rejected (Forte/Henne for Rodgers; McCoy/Henne for Rodgers; McCoy/Forte for Rodgers) & he's countered with:

McCoy/Forte/Henne for Rodgers/B. Jackson

Even though this trade wouldn't kill my roster, it seems like too much to give up to get an injured QB.

Anybody agree? Disagree?

Thanks.

the only one out of the 3 that you play is McCoy, and I'm not sure with your RB's that you'd play McCoy that often? McCoy and Forte are nice players, but Henne looked terrible against the Pats. Your scoring system is QB heavy and Rodgers is ELITE. You keep youre two elite RB's and add a truely ELITE QB. Jackson looked good last week, and they may start running heavier with the loss of Finely, but I wouldnt bet on it. Either way, jackson wouldnt play on your team.

Bottom Line, Rodgers plays in your line up imediately, and everyone you give up would play based on matchup correct? I guess you were starting Henne, but Rodgers is much better then Henne.
