~I'm in a TD-heavy dynasty league and was recently offered Dez Bryant for LeSean McCoy straight-up.
I'm heavily considering the offer, but it would leave my team weak at RB while strengthening a weak position for me at WR. I also have Tony Romo as my QB1, which could factor into the decision.
In our league, we have to play 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, and a RB/WR/TE flex. It's a TD-heavy league, 6 points per TD with 1 point for each 15 yards receiving/rushing
My RB/WR/TE roster is as follows:
RB: LeSean McCoy Knowshon Moreno LeGarrette Blount Darren Sproles James Starks Derrick Ward
WR: Mike Sims-Walker Steve Smith (CAR) Brandon Tate Steve Johnson Laurent Robinson Jerricho Cotchery Early Doucet Stephen Williams Chaz Schilens
TE: Brent Celek Owen Daniels Shawn Nelson
So, as you can see, my WRs are either aging, underperforming or injured. I do think Blount and Starks might provide some value this year.
There are 20 teams in the league, and chances are I'll pick around 10-15 overall. There are usually some decent WR options at that point once the top RBs/QBs are taken off the board, but most of the good RB options are gone. So, do I wait out the season, let my RB corps grow, or should I buy into Bryant's high potential and, knowing that it will be hard for me to draft or trade for a good RB this offseason, make the deal?
Thanks for replying to mine. I don't think I'd do the deal. Never done a keeper league, but I think having Austin in Dallas lowers Bryant's potential point total too much to give McCoy.
yeah don't do it, mccoy seems to be on the rise, bryant has too much competition with roy williams coming on and even if he takes over number 2, hes never gonna be better than austin
12 Team 4 player keeper no strings. Standard roster/scoring except can start TE at flex QB Stafford, Kaepernick RB Foster, McFadden, SJax, Moreno, B. Tate WR D. Thomas, Nicks, D. Moore, Maclin, A. Brown TE M. Bennett K Jani D Lions, Dolphins
Thanks for the help on mine. I also would not do this. Bryant has been all hype so far. McCoy has been a stud this year.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green, TE: Hernandez, Cook
