Brady 4 Moss?

Postby RealWisconsinCheese » Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:41 am

Here it is:

Matt Ryan, Ryan Torain, and Randy Moss in exchange for Tom Brady and Michael Bush

I hate to lose Moss, but I'm very tempted to take this trade. Also, I think this make sense with my team (oakland combo). Thanks for the help guys, this site is great! ;-D

My Team: 12 team standard scoring
QB: Matt Ryan
RB: D. McFadden, A. Foster, R. Mendenhall, CJ Spiller, Ryan Torain, M. Tolbert
WR: R. Moss, S. Moss, Giants S. Smith, Mike Wallace, D. Mason
TE: C. Cooley

never have 2 running backs on the same team. it never works out. once McFadden gets back Bush will prolly be useless

I personally wouldn't do it. Favre apparently loves him some Moss, while Brady--who will still get his numbers--takes a hit without Randy around.

Matt Ryan can be a great match-up play, and I'm sure there are other spot-start QB's available on your waiver wire for when Matty Ice has an away game against a tough team.

Once McFadden gets back, Torain (assuming he doesn't get injured) may have more value than Bush, given the former's role as the definite starter. Oakland does have a good schedule, though, and I don't really like McFadden's chances to stay healthy the whole year.

All in all, I'd say you could probably get more for Torain, Moss, and Ryan than just Brady and Bush.

Thanks for the reply yonex003.
I somewhat agree with what your saying. I would never start both at the same time. But Oakland has been running great this year, and injuries or not I've got the starter- it's handcuff idea.

What I'm really wondering about is if I should give up WR depth to get Brady. I'm thinking the upgrade might be worth it. If I got solid backs, and I feel I would, I think I can sacrifice WR depth to get a top notch QB. What do you think?

Thanks for the reply whisper.
I'm currently tied at 4-1 in my league with 2 other guys. This league is v. competitive and I feel like need a QB upgrade to go all the way (other top QB owners won't play ball). But, maybe you're right that I'm giving too much up. Man I don't know!

I'm trying to think of a counter-offer, maybe including Mcfadden/torain for just Brady, but I'm having trouble.

I'm a little suprised, I feel like I would have a stronger long-term team with this trade. I would have a top QB, great RB talent, and be only slightly weak at WR with S. Moss, S. Smith, and M. Wallace. But, I also think Wallace is going to come on hot with Big Ben.
Anybody agree with me here? Otherwise, talk me down before I take the plunge on this deal.
Thanks! :-)

I'd be tempted to wait a week and see how Brady spreads it around with Moss gone, Branch back, and A Hernandez emerging as a viable fantasy starter. That'd also give you a chance to see how Moss will adapt to Favre's system and see if the Harvin show on Monday was a fluke or not once Moss gets worked in.

Thx for your reply to my post!

You have great RB depth. I would try to see what you could get for one of your RBs alone. Maybe give in Ryan as well if they'll need a QB. I think that something like Ryan, Torain would get you a pretty decent QB

I'd pass on this deal, Ryan is a solid QB, and Moss will catch fire in Minny,
