Fitz & Hillis for AJ & Pierre Thomas (.5 PPR), WHIR

Postby saemick » Wed Oct 13, 2010 1:23 pm

Was just offered the following trade:

I give: Larry Fitz & Peyon Hillis
I get: Andre Johnson & Pierre Thomas

Hillis has been great for me, especially bc we get a 1/2 point per reception, but a healthy AJ is a stud.

Here's my roster:

12-team, .5pt per reception
QB: Cutler, Vick
RB: Gore, Hillis, M. Bush, Fred Jackson
WR: Fitz, Jennings, S. Smith (CAR), Crabtree, M. WIlliams (TB), Dez Bryant
TE: Hernandez
K: Prater
D: NE
Scoring: 10yds rush/rec = 1pt, 25yds pass = 1pt, TD = 6pts, fumble/int. = -2pts

This is a tough call...
I have both Hillis and PThomas on my roster. Also a 12 team .5 PPR.
Hillis, like you said, has been great so far while PT, when healthy, was good, not great.

AJ should finally start to show his old self soon while Fitz is stuck in AZ w/ a questionable Q situation at best.

AJ is the real lynchpin to this trade. Hillis will most likely continue to outperform PT...1 snap is all it takes right now!
I say accept the trade but only b/c AJ is almost healthy and should start putting up AJ-esque numbers again very soon while Fitz will be ho-hum until AZ gets their act together. Not a very confident bit of advice but didn't want to leave you hanging!

I say take it. Fitz is a mess, AJ will surely turn it around. Hillis is banged up, and he can't keep up this pace. Pierre Thomas is a buy low right now in a 0.5 ppr. If bush takes a while, his value is high when he is back. I don't see Hillis doing much more than Thomas by fantasy playoffs.

Tough call. I would hold off on this though because Fitzgerald may actually be getting some consistency at QB now, even if the QB isn't the best. Hillis has been incredible all year and is a little banged up, but so is AJ and Pierre Thomas. Through the first 5 weeks your WR and RB have been more productive than his and I doubt that will change.
