Offer for Mendenhall

Postby Berge20 » Wed Oct 13, 2010 1:25 pm

Standard scoring (no PPR)
Start 2RBs, 2WRs, 1TE--no Flex

Offer received:

I get:
M. Forte (RB-Chi)
M. Bush (RB-Oak)
J. Witten (TE-Dal)

I give:
R. Mendenhall

I've got a glut of WRs that are not top tier but semi-decent and my RB situation is also decent, so not really sure how this helps me too much. Gives me the Oak backfield tandem (and the IMO most likely long-term play given McFadden's injuries). Witten isn't really a massive upgrade unless people feel he's going to rebound strongly. Anyone for a counter offer replacing Witten with say Austin and me throwing in Marshall?

My roster:
RBs
R Mendenhall
D McFadden
D Williams
F Jones
L Betts
WRs
B Marshall
M Floyd
A Collie (R)
G Jennings (R)
M Crabtree (R)
S Holmes (R)
TEs
B Pettigrew

His roster:
RBs
M Forte
M Turner
F Jackson
J Best
J Snelling
M Bush
R Williams
WRs
M Austin
R Wayne
TEs
Z Miller
J Witten

I don't like this trade, you're giving up a RB1 for an RB2, TE2, and M.Bush who played well, but when McFadden is back, who knows how the carries will be split.

Not a bad trade, but I would try your counter first. I think he's getting Mendenhall a little too cheaply here.

After more thought, I agree that the initial offer doesn't really do me much good.

In this format (2 RBs, 2 WRs) it seems that you're better off keeping the studs, since having 3/4 2nd tier guys doesnt do you much good unless your team goes on a massive in jury streak.

Still need to think if countering for a #1 WR is worth it. That's the real question I guess.
