Tons of RBs, do I need to upgrade at WR?

Postby schmittmj99 » Wed Oct 13, 2010 4:11 pm

Started the season with:

QB: Favre, Palmer, Big Ben
RB: Rice, Grant, Forsett
WR: White, Smith (NYG), TJ, Ward, Evans, VJax
TE: Clark
K: Kaeding
D/ST: Vikings

League rules are:
25y Pass = 1pt
10y Rush/Rec = 1pt
PassTD = 4pt
RushTD/RecTD = 6pt
Rec = 0.5pt

Start:
1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1 RB/WR/TE Flex
1 K
1 D/ST

After trades, injuries, waivers, etc, I now stand at

QB: Romo
RB: Rice, Turner, Benson, Moreno, BJGE, Lynch, M. Bush
WR: Colston, Floyd, Ward, VJax
TE: Davis
K: Scobee
D/ST: Saints

I seem to always play the guy that has his team go off, or my guys get hurt or underperform ...

I'm 0-5
GM1: 79.34 - 143.78
GM2: 91.00 - 137.38
GM3: 106.40 - 115.26
GM4: 78.20 - 109.00
GM5: 131.54 - 152.26
Total: 486.48 - 657.68

Now what to do. The guy that I traded White to is now seriously deficient at RB and we are in talks to possibly do another trade. He also has Marshall that I might be able to get from him. I had been considering a few trade proposals, and if possible, would like some thoughts on them.

I give Turner + (Colston or Ward) + (1 or more of BJGE, M. Bush, Moreno, Lynch)
I get White, Marshall

This would leave me with Rice, Benson, (1 or more of BJGE, M. Bush, Moreno, Lynch) at RB and give me White, Marshall, Floyd, (Colston or Ward), VJax at WR

I give Moreno + (Colston or Ward) + (1 or more of BJGE, M. Bush, Lynch)
I get (Marshall or White)

This would leave me with Rice, Turner, Benson, (1 or more of BJGE, M. Bush, Lynch) at RB and give me (Marshall or White), Floyd, (Colston or Ward), VJax at WR

I give (2 or more of BJGE, M. Bush, Lynch) + (Colston or Ward)
I get (Marshall or White)

Do I dare try ...

I give BJGE, M. Bush, Lynch, + (2 or more of Colston, Ward, Floyd)
I get Marshall, White

This would leave me with Rice, Turner, Benson, Moreno at RB and give me Marshall, White, (1 of Colston, Ward, Floyd), VJax at WR

Some thoughts:

I don't generally like to have a WR and RB from the same team, so I'd lean more toward Marshall over White if I only targetted 1 of them, but maybe Turner and White would be ok.

BJGE and Lynch both have had their bye weeks already and can fill in for starters. Both also have concerns over usage now (will BJGE get more touches without Moss, will Lynch be able to secure the majority of the touches in Seattle).

Lynch and Moreno both have good looking schedules coming up if they can get/stay healthy, and get touches.

Marshall and Ward both have had their bye weeks and can be a permanent starters or can fill in for starters.

Floyd has a good looking schedule coming up.

White and Marshall both see a bunch of targets each week.

Turner isn't scoring TD (yet), and has some injury concerns

Benson is on a bye this week, and I happen to be playing the team I'd be looking to trade with ...

How many teams are in this league? You could use an upgrade at WR if you can get one for the right price. I skimmed through your options but my best advice would be to get into trade talks with some owners to narrow down the scenarios.

Its a 10 team league.

As far as other owners and trades, just about all of them are hard nosed about it unless it is an offer like R. Rice for Jennings or something silly like that.

A few other guys that may be available on that same team are Dallas Clark and Tom Brady
