DROP TWO WR's/TE of FIVE {probably permanently}

Postby NIGHTSHADE » Wed Oct 13, 2010 5:40 pm

In order to make way for a shot at Felix Jones and open a 4th RB slot, I have to drop TWO Wide Receivers. Which two makes more sense?
With a 9 point league average, all five are underperforming. TE's average 8.9

KEVIN WALTER 8.4 * Obviously my best WR statwise, but I noticed a marked decline the last two weeks.
BRENT CELEK 8.4 * Numbers down from last year, but starting to turn corner with Kolb
MIKE WALLACE 8 * One good week out of four, but I am waiting for his true self to emerge with Roethlisberger
JABAR GAFFNEY 7.4 * Catches a lot of balls, but nary a TD
GREG JENNINGS 6.8 * My big bust but I am leary on parting ways.

Of course you can tell me that my worst two WR's are better than picking up Felix Jones, but I am learning now that Dallas will feature him more after last week's performance.
You can also tell me to part ways with Michael Turner, Ryan Torain, or Marshawn Lynch, but they seem to valuable right now.

Please explain your answers in detail. Thanks!

It's easier for me to advise you who NOT to drop first....

do NOT drop Jennings, they are talking about getting him the ball more and you know that Rodgers is a great QB who can get him the ball and that they will be competitive (and high-scoring) all year.

do NOT drop Mike Wallace, he is a speed burner and Big Ben will instantly raise his value 10fold!

so this leaves 3....Celek, of course, is a TE, and I always find their production to be harder to predict than WR's. But that's just my personal preference. Gaffney plays in a strong passing offense with lots of options, and Walter also shares the ball with a lot of other skill players and a team that seems to be going with the running attack a lot more often lately.

I think I'd keep Gaffney, and drop Celek and Walter, if you have to. And of course please don't kill me if Celek has a huge game against Atlanta this weekend!!!

help on mine? viewtopic.php?t=480523

Celek is hard to get rid of too because solid TE's are very hard to get now and my league scores an automatic PPR, but not for WRs {I think Moeki is still a Free Agent}. Thanks ; I'll consider it all.
