Turner/Brady for CJ/Eli... WHIR Always!!

Postby woods_opc » Wed Oct 13, 2010 9:59 pm

14 team H2H league, standard scoring with 4 keepers year over year(marked by starts) 3 WR 2 RB

MY team

QB: Brady*, Orton
WR: Jennings*, Harvin, Crabtree, Branch V. Jackson
RB: Peterson*, Turner*, Bradshaw, Lynch
TE: Finley, Olsen
K: Akers
DEF: Saints

My team got hit hard this week with injuries to both Finley and Mark Clayton putting me into a position to need to make a move to make up for production. I have a couple trades being floated around. What do you think?

1) I give: Tom Brady and Michael Turner
I get: Eli Manning and Chris Johnson

2) I give: Michael Turner
I get: Reggie Wayne

3) I give: Tom Brady and Michael Crabtree
I get: Alex Smith and Calvin Johnson

Two of these trades address my need at wide receiver. However,r I have been having very little luck pulling in a top guy. Have tried for White, Austin, Nicks and Moss all with no luck. Brandon Marshall is out there but he made not give the upgrade I am looking for if I have to give up Turner or Bradshaw.

How do you think I should proceed?

1) If you can do Brady and Turner for Eli and Chris Johnson, pull the trigger. Orton is more than a capable starter for you and Eli can be a fill-in for favorable matchups. Brady also loses a little value with the loss of Moss. And if you're looking for an elite WR, you could always turn around and trade CJ or AP.

2) Turner for Wayne would be good if you don't feel you want to give up Brady. Bradshaw is a more than capable starter and you get the much needed help at WR.

3)Brady and Crabtree for Megatron and Alex Smith I wouldn't do. I like Crabtree's upside, and I just don't think you are gaining enough.

So I like both 1 and 2. But if I had to choose, I'd say go with #1. You don't lose much at QB and then you'd have two elite RBs and you could possibly deal one for an elite WR.
QB- Shaun Hill
WR- Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Wes DeSean Jackson
RB- Ray Rice, Ahmad Bradshaw
W/R- Jamaal Charles
TE- Jacob Tamme
K- Rob Bironas
DEF- Cleveland
BENCH- Welker, Gaffney, Vincent Jackson, Reggie Bush, Sanchez, Flacco, Cooley

I'd do trade #1. A backfield of AP and CJ would be dominant, and like the previous guy said Orton will be a fine starting QB for you

Trade 1. The CJ factor is too big to ignore...

I really like the first trade. You still have Orton, who has been great this year and you get a significant upgrade at RB.

Second trade I would pass on. Just doesn't seem to be much value either way.

Third trade I would probably take. Like I said before, you still have Orton and Calvin Johnson is an upgrade over Crabtree, who has only had one good game this year.
