He offered me MJD, Driver, and D Clark for A Foster. I had inquired about Clark as I just lost Finley for year.
I drafted Foster in 3rd rd, so if I kept him I'd sacrifice 3rd round pick. He had MJD as his 1st rd, so if I kept MJD I'd sac my 1st round pick next year. Is he worth that seeing how brittle he's becomming?
If you feel like you have a legit shot this year I would do this deal. Having Clark immediately fills for Finley and then some and Driver rounds out your WR's well. A healthy MJD is also as good if not better than Foster especially with MK. If you are skeptical of your chances this year stay away. Foster in the third is great value. But this is a great trade for trying to win this year. And MJD is an automatic top 5 next year anyways, so... seems good to me
I totally disagree. MJD is nowhere near where he used to be....neither is their offense! Foster is in a good system, with good players around him. They are committed to him and he'll continue to get better.
However, this trade wasn't MJD for Foster straight up, so with a free Dallas Clark and a Donald Driver bonus, I say it makes things more interesting. If there was no other shot at a te upgrade, I'd consider it. If someone has a Zach Miller they'd move, or a Dustin Keller for a little less, i'd explore that avenue. Also, a Heath miller might be available on the wire or a Marcades Lewis. I'd just hate to touch your best player and get back a RB that has a lot of issues right now.
If you can't find any other TE/WR help, I guess you might have to pull this trigger. Please remember though, this is NOT an endorsment for MJD. It's purely situational and a last resort.
**things to consider--your current record, chance at playoffs, desire to draft a first rounder next year, etc...
