Better going forward- Crabtree or Gaffney? WHIR

Postby passthekiesch » Wed Oct 13, 2010 10:24 pm

I'm planning on packaging one of these guys with Jay Cutler to trade for Kyle Orton. I need some consistent QB play, and with the way Denver throws the ball, I have faith in Kyle Orton, at least as I wait to see if Schaub gets his act in gear.

My question to you is which one is more worth holding onto? It's a 0.5 PPR league with otherwise standard scoring. Gaffney is tied for 6th in the league in catches, but there are other weapons in Denver. Crabtree, on the other hand, got off to a pretty slow start, but the new Off. Coord. in San Fran seems intent on making him a focal point in the Niners offense.

Opinions on who has more upside going forward? As always, leave a link and I'll help you out...
QB- Shaun Hill
WR- Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Wes DeSean Jackson
RB- Ray Rice, Ahmad Bradshaw
W/R- Jamaal Charles
TE- Jacob Tamme
K- Rob Bironas
DEF- Cleveland
BENCH- Welker, Gaffney, Vincent Jackson, Reggie Bush, Sanchez, Flacco, Cooley

From an upside perspective, Crabtree no question. This guy has insane talent and if he remains a 7-10 catch per game guy he is a must start every week.

Not to mention Crab's the #1 WR, whereas Gaffney's the #3. I see Crabtree letting owners down this week, due to the work of Nnamdi, but he's a solid play as far as the rest of the season goes.
