Favre for Ricky Williams? WHIR

Postby panjam » Thu Oct 14, 2010 5:06 am

16 team non-keeper. My Ricky Williams for his Brett Favre. I have Culter, but he has been garbage lately. We only play 1 QB a week (6pt/TD). Do you think Favre will bounce back now with Moss and Rice on his way back? Can I afford to give up Ricky Williams? Should I make this trade?

QB Jay Cutler
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Steve Smith
WR Lance Moore
RB Rashard Mendenhall
RB Thomas Jones
TE Dallas Clark
BN Ricky Williams
BN Felix Jones
BN Dexter McCluster
BN Sam Bradford
BN Nate Burleson

I would not make this trade. Favre has a tendonitis issue that could keep him out of 1-2 games, then flare right back up and keep him out of 1-2 games again later. Contrary to popular belief, the Bears showed that they CAN compete on the pro level with their run game, and you should expect them to bring a much more balanced attack in future weeks. While this might mean fewer pass attempts for Cutler, it will actually take pressure off him and make him more productive. Bottom line, Cutler is a better fantasy QB than Favre right now, so you'd be giving up a starting RB to get a backup QB, which is not a good trade.

I would rather play Culter than farve at this point, just trust him more.
