They looked absolutely terrible up until last week; in fact, I almost thought they had quit. Then they beat up on Denver last week, but I'm not sure what to think about that either since Denver is terrible as well. Carolina is bad, but I get the feeling more that it's just a complete lack of anything at the QB position.

That's why I think AZ is a good play, not cause they are anything special but simply because Car is so bad offensively. I mean, worthlessness at QB can make any defense look awesome, just look at Houston against Ten with Rusty Smith or SD against KC with Croyle instead of Cassel.

Stewart has averaged 107 yards the last 3 weeks since coming back, and goodson was doing great the 2 weeks before that, carolinas o-line has been opening major holes, they have been one of the best o-lines in the game the last 6 weeks, i've watched almost all there games, becuase i make a good portion of my income betting on sports, so i have to, lol...a truck could run thru these holes they've been making, and its been against much stiffer run defense's like b-more, cleveland, and atanta, the 3th,6th,and 10th best run defenses in football, imagine what carolina's running game will do when they actaully have a lead in a game, as i expect they will, they shouldn't even attempt one pass against zone, who ranks dead last for giving up points against fantasy rbs....don't see any reason carolina would pass the ball in this game. carolina is the defense you wanta have in this game if you have to play one of them.

I suspect Pitt defense is a no brainer this week as the top defense.

My waiver pickup this week is Dallas playing at AZ. AZ managed just 12 points last week against Carolina and has been held to just 6 points in 2 games at home recently against StL and SF. Dallas defense has scored double digit fantasy points in 4 out of the last 6 weeks since Garrett has taken over.

Sorry the late numbers, I've got to plan for a business trip to China and was delayed...

Here are the normalized (see below for details) projections for Week 16.

Code: Select all
Pittsburgh Steelers    96.15
Philadelphia Eagles    90.38
San Diego Chargers     83.24
Arizona Cardinals      80.49
Green Bay Packers      79.67
Baltimore Ravens       79.67
Dallas Cowboys         79.40
New England Patriots   78.30
Detroit Lions          77.20
Atlanta Falcons        76.92
New York Jets          75.82
Chicago Bears          74.18
Tampa Bay Buccaneers   73.90
Jacksonville Jaguars   71.15
Washington Redskins    68.68
St. Louis Rams         68.68
Indianapolis Colts     66.48
Miami Dolphins         65.38
San Francisco 49ers    65.38
Seattle Seahawks       63.74
Cleveland Browns       63.74
Carolina Panthers      63.19
Oakland Raiders        63.19
Cincinnati Bengals     62.91
New York Giants        62.36
Tennessee Titans       61.81
Kansas City Chiefs     60.99
New Orleans Saints     57.97
Houston Texans         55.49
Minnesota Vikings      53.57
Denver Broncos         53.57
Buffalo Bills          49.45

A NOTE about Normalization: Normalized projections are derived by taking the highest possible scoring defensive matchup (best DST matchup between two teams) and the lowest possible scoring defensive matchup, creating a scale of 0-100 and assigning value to each matchup score to give an overall rating so you can make relevance decisions instead of simply trading up to get higher on the chart.

Random note of the week: Houston has been perma-stuck at the bottom of this list. Week 16 has them up against a bad Broncos team which moves them up to the #29 spot! Congrats Texans!
