Trade accepted (Orton/Floyd for Flacco/Nicks) WHIR

Postby Sex Panther » Thu Oct 14, 2010 2:35 pm

Just pulled off a relatively big trade...

This is a 12 team $$ league, QB/WR/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/K/D, standard scoring, no PPR, no flex.

I'm sitting at 4-1, over 600 pts (next closest is just shy of 475).

W/ the VJax news, I figured it probably would make sense to move Floyd...

I traded my Orton & Floyd for his Flacco & Nicks...

New Roster...

QB Eli, Flacco
WR Wayne, White, Nicks, J. Jones (Houston), B. Tate
RB AP, Foster, F. Jones, BJGE, D. Ward
TE Gates
K Rackers
D NYG

I like my new toy, and figure I really didn't lose out on QB - instead of Eli/Orton match up plays, I get Eli/Flacco match up plays...

Eli - DET, DAL, BYE, SEA, DAL, PHI, JAX, WAS, MIN, PHI, GB

Flacco - NE, BUF, BYE, MIA, ATL, CAR, TB, PIT, HOU, NO, CLE

Only problem is week 8 & BYE weeks for my QB spot, Projected Starter above

Figure I have what could be a top 10 QB every week
3 top 5 WR every week
2 top 5 RB every week
Top 3 TE every week

Opinions?

Interesting.. I like it for the most part. This is my second year of serious Fantasy Football. Last year I managed to get Schaub as my QB late and having the consistent QB numbers was really nice. This year in my money league I've been ok with Cutler and now Roethlisberger.. but in my other league I've had Flacco/McNabb which has been owning me hard (partially cause of my matchup choices). Usually one of the two does well at least, but a couple times I've been stuck with the worse one. Don't get me wrong.. I don't believe in spending a high draft pick on one, which is why Orton is an interesting QB to me. I haven't played near long enough to have my final opinion on this, but as of now I really like having a QB you can rely on week after week. I'm curious of Orton will be a guy that puts up consistent numbers this year like he has so far. He could be this years Schaub.

What sells me is that this trade definitely works for your roster. Your team is solid enough at every position to not worry about having a consistent QB. The QBs you have for matchups are just fine for the job. Eli's stats would look a lot better if his WRs weren't tipping everything into the other teams hands and Flacco has started to look pretty solid as well. I too am trying to get rid of Floyd for the reasons you mentioned and it makes sense to do it now while his value is as high as its gonna be. I'm sure his value declines the closer VJax comes to returning unless he somehow keeps up an extremely high level of play. Not gonna lie I haven't seen much of Floyd in action so I don't know if he is actually playing really well or if RIvers is just making him look good. Either way.. Nicks is someone I have watched and getting Nicks for him is huge. I think Nicks is only gonna get better as the season goes on and could easily finish a top 5 WR.
