Time Sensitive: Offered Gore for my RMoss and JCharles WHIR

Postby dunbar2007 » Thu Oct 14, 2010 2:50 pm

Was just offered Gore for Randy Moss and Jamaal Charles. I haven't responded as I feel Charles and Moss are poised to start blowing up...however Gore is a top 5 RB.

I am thinking I should offer those 2 for Peterson first though before accepting? Does this make my WR corp too thin?

Tradtionally, I like average QB scoring, average WR scoring, and I beat the crap out of people with my top RB corp :-)... :-) . Should I ask for someone else in return as well?

My roster
QB: Vick, McNabb, Orton, Freeman (start 2)
RB: CJ24, SJax, JCharles, BWells, MBush (start 3)
WR: RMoss, SMoss, IR-SSmith (CAR), JKnox, BTate, JGaffney (start 3)
TE: ZMiller (start 1)

.5 PPR and standard

I would take a good look at how many carries T. Jones is taking away from Charles and probably snap up Gore in this deal. The additional icing on this cake is that you get a roster spot to play with. So this is like getting Gore and the best WR FA for Moss and Charles. I also have a concern with Moss, and it's Brett Favre's tendonitis. I was pretty sure his arm was going to fall of and flop around on the ground on Monday night.

I just traded away Moss and Cadillac Williams for Frank Gore this week myself. I'm feeling pretty good myself, so I'd say you'd be fine with making your trade. You do look weak at WR after the trade, but 3 top RBs will be hard to beat. Are there any interesting people on the WW you can pick up, or can you try to get him to add his WR3 or a bench WR with upside?

I wouldn't do it. It looks like you are hurting at WR and I don't see Gore over Charles as that big of an upgrade. Randy Moss production will take a hit moving from New England, but you still looked really depleted at WR.

See, I love Gore BUT I feel Charles will produce plenty...he might not be the name Gore is but his production should be close to Gore's and losing Moss is KEY....it's tough for me to stomach losing Moss and having NOTHING at WR.

as much as i love gore i just think your giving up too much in this deal, Charles is going to get his carries and really come on in the next couple of games.. Yea moss is gonna take a hit being on the viks but even if farve isnt the qb jackson isnt a bad backup and he can throw the ball down field. the deal would leave you VERY weak at wr.

If you can offer up something like Beanie Wells and one of your bench wrs for a better wr. Beanie is a good player but just everyone in the offense flat out SUCKS. If they had a qb i woud say to keep him and trade bush but beanie has atleast the name recognition and you may be able to get something of value for him before everyone realizes that he sucks this year.

Please help with mine..

Though I think you are getting the better end of the trade, you al killing your WR. Going from Moss, Moss and Gaffney to Moss, Gaffney and Knox is brutal. I know you are mad at Moss, I have him too.

I wouldn't do it. Your team looks real nice the way it is. Your RB's are already really solid with ChrisJohnson, SJax and Charles. You are already weak at WR so I wouldn't downgrade WR. If you trade Moss away, your #1 WR becomes Santana Moss, and Santana Moss has been inconsistent thus far, and definitely isn't a #1 WR. I'm not so sure on how well Randy Moss will do in Minnesota, I think it really depends on Favre. I actually was able to deal R. Moss for MJD in my league last week. Maybe try trading Charles for a back that gets the majority of carries. But I would not do the deal, I think it makes you really weak at WR.
