Ok, so - I've been offered a trade in my big-money league, and I'm not sure if I should make it or not. My team started slowly (3 straight losses), but I have since won the last 2 weeks to move to 2-3 overall. I'm tied for 2nd in pts. scored so far, but I've basically got a stable of stud WR's that have been carrying me all season. My RB / QB situation is not the best - especially since I drafted R. Grant as my #2 RB, and now P. Thomas can't seem to get back on the field.
Anyway - I haven't been able to get any other owners in this league to trade me a decent RB in exchange for any of my WR's... so, I've decided to try on improving my starting QB instead. I just received an offer today to get P. Rivers & K. Britt in exchange for Megatron & B. Lloyd, but I'm worried that it's not going to help my team as much as I'd like it to. Please take a look at the deal below and let me know what you think...
My team BEFORE trade: (* denotes players involved in potential trade) QB's: Cutler, Flacco, Kolb RB's: Gore, P. Thomas, M. Lynch, Forsett, C. Ivory WR's: Megatron*, M. Austin, H. Nicks, B. Lloyd*, J. Knox TE's: Z. Miller, H. Miller K: Bryant DST: Packers, Chiefs, Patriots
His team BEFORE trade: (* denotes players involved in potential trade) QB's: P. Rivers*, McNabb RB's: Turner, Moreno, B. Jackons, Snelling, MB3 WR's: Welker, B. Edwards, D. Jackson, K. Britt*, D. Hester TE's: Shiancoe, Scheffler, Celek K: Akers DST: Chargers, Bills
What do you think? Should I make this deal, should I counter-offer, or should I just stand pat and say "No thanks"? Any and all opinions & comments are welcome and greatly appreciated - WHIR! [leave link]
No way I do this deal if I was you. Cutler and Flacco will be fine and you are losing all your depth at receiver. Im thinking you should trade Flacco and Megatron or Lloyd (his choice) for Rivers and Britt, that would be more fair. Or shop Megatron, Flacco, and Lloyd elsewhere to the Brees or Manning owner for their QB and a mediocre WR. Unless you really love Rivers the rest of the way

yeah I don't like this trade, Rivers will cool off try to trade megatron and something else for a qb. i think lloyd and megatron are about equal from herre on but everyone loves the big name guys help me! viewtopic.php?t=479619
12 Team 4 player keeper no strings. Standard roster/scoring except can start TE at flex QB Stafford, Kaepernick RB Foster, McFadden, SJax, Moreno, B. Tate WR D. Thomas, Nicks, D. Moore, Maclin, A. Brown TE M. Bennett K Jani D Lions, Dolphins
hey bro, im actually going to disagree with B Shrimp and the rest due in large part to your scoring system and starting requirements. I think you should take the trade and heres why. your start 2 WRs in a PPR league. who are the number 1 and 2 WRs in points per game so far (gotta account for austins bye), Austin and Nicks right? 6 points per td for qbs? thats huge, so whos the #1 qb in your league right now, rivers right? plus you have gore whos the #3 RB and meg miller whos the #2 tight end for you, no? So this trade leaves you with only one starting skill position outside of the top #3 through 5 weeks at RB#2 which remains is not impacted one way or the other thru the trade. I think the other owner may possibly be getting the better deal but I think if you do the deal youve got the championship locked up.
and yeah i know current standings dont translate into guaranteed future returns by a long shot but you are in damn good shape with that new lineup. BTW I also play in a very competitive big $ 12 team PPR league where we start only 2WRs (only 4 points per qb td tho) and i have gore, austin, and lloyd too. i say do it. Barring injury to austin, nicks or rivers (which cant be predicted) you are going to be in excellent shape after this trade. Draft for depth then trade from your depth to improve your starting lineup
Id also like to add as an addendum that you should def address your #2 RB after this trade. dont let that sit. package a lynch and cutler or flac tandem to a dude hurting at QB with some mid-tier RB types to have some options until thomas gets back
Thanks a ton for all the input, fellas. Well, I did some hardcore bargaining with the other owner, and was able to finalize a deal to get Rivers in exchange for J. Cutler and B. Lloyd - which I am totally stoked about.
(@ leftovers: Yes, Rivers is the #1 scoring QB in our league! )
So, (assuming it's approved), after this trade my starting lineup will feature: QB: Rivers (#1 scorer @ position) RB: Gore (#3 scorer @ position) WR's: Nicks, Miles, Megatron (#1, #4, #8 scorers @ position) TE: Z. Miller (#2 scorer @ position) K: Bryant (#2 scorer @ position) DST: Packers, Falcons (#6, #10 scorers @ position)
Next up, I'm going to try and package Flacco and Megatron in exchange for L. McCoy. If I land that one, then I feel more than confident about my chances of winning a championship.
