AB for Reggie! Need help and WHIR

Postby woods_opc » Fri Oct 15, 2010 8:57 am

14 team keeper league, standard scoring H2H format start 3 WR and 2 RB

WR - Jennings, Harvin, Crabtree, Branch, V Jax
RB - Peterson, Turner, Bradshaw, Lynch
TE - Olsen

I have been getting killed at WR with very little production, so I have been looking to use my running back depth to get a receiver.

I get: Reggie Wayne
I give: Crabtree and Bradshaw

I am worried with giving up two young studs in a keeper league that this could come back to bite me in the but. I traded Ray Rice away at the beginning of the season last year and have been kicking myself ever since. Is this a good deal? Should I be looking to deal Turner because of his age?

Who do you keep in that league? I would try and deal Turner and Crabtree instead. Bradshaw is on fire and it will only get better..

Thanks for the help on mine.

We can keep four and there is no draft or roster penalties for keeping.

This past year I kept: Brady, Peterson, Turner, Jennings

I have been looking to deal Turner but he seems on the edge of breaking out. Over 100 years in his last couple contests with no TD's. I am worried to be giving up on him too soon. But I agree that Bradshaw has been playing well, but there is the injury risk and Jacobs is becoming more involved again in the offense.

Thanks for the help w/ mine.

Eesh.. In a league you start 3 Wide you DEFINITELY need to upgrade. If it were Bradshaw straight up for Reggie i'd do it, but Crabtree is in your starting lineup at this point and would be if you got Wayne, You'd be strong even through the upcoming bye weeks, but if you don't have Crab, you're talking about starting a very unreliable harvin at WR3 spot, I wouldnt be comfy w/ that.

Also, i think everyone is going to be very underwhelmed w/ Branch's fantasy value. I'm a huge Pats fan and the Pats are going to get back to spreading the ball around and dominating Time of Posession just like they were back in 04. 04 was their 2nd highest scoring team ever and no receiver had 1000 yds or more than 56 catches (which is why i'm dealing Welker). Ok, they had Dillon running for 1500 yds but they still have a decent combined running game...anyways..he's not starting for you and either is VJax.

Bradshaw should be able to get you Wayne by himself. If not, throw in Harvin. If not, then i'd deal Turner straight up for Wayne and roll w/ Bradhsaw.

I wouldnt do the deal if i were you as i dont feel you're going to score more points and you'll lose depth.

Turner for Wayne straight up and get the deal done NOW because Indy is going to TORCH this weekend...

Good luck.

Thanks for helping with my question.

I agree with phorts - I think Turner for Wayne would be enough to get the deal done, and I'm a Wayne owner. You definitely need the help at WR and could live with losing Turner, since you'd still have Lynch on the bench. And being able to keep Peterson and Bradshaw is pretty solid.

AP gives you the flexibility to lose Turner. Turner straight up for Wayne and you've got yourself a great roster.

thanks for the help.
