Tough FLEX Question

Postby tat2matt » Sat Oct 16, 2010 2:12 pm

Alright...I'm in a PPR league, .1 per rush/reception yard, FLEX can be WR/RB/TE/QB.

Right now, my two best options are Jahvid Best v. NYG or Jason Witten v. MIN. Both have tough match-ups, either could blow up and have huge games. Help me out here...WHIR.

Agreed that it's not an easy one, but I lean toward Witten.

Absolutely Jahvid Best in my opinion. Don't forget that he was the NFL's TD leader until 4. A true redzone back who also breaks big plays, his chances are high of finding the end zone again this week. He will catch almost as many passes as Witten, who is barely a top-7 TE and shouldn't be started at a position that allows anything other than TE's.

Help with mine, please:

I think they both get around the same number of receptions, and Best will likely have more yards (and has a lot more potential to have a huge game than Witten), so I'd go Best.

Best. Detroit will try to get him the ball as much as possible. He has great hands and like the other posters have said will probably have just as many receptions as witten.

Thanks for the help with mine.

Follow the law of averages. Witten is averaging 6.5 points per game in standard scoring while Best is averaging 14.6. There's really no comparison. Even in PPR, Best has better odds of scoring, and will catch passes. Witten will probably put up his usual stat line: 5 catches for 50-60 yards. In a PPR that's good enough for about 10 points, or 16 if you're lucky and he scores. Best meanwhile, should get his usual workload of 15-20 carries, 50-80 yards, plus has a chance at getting the same number of catches as Witten (and is averaging 5 catches per game after 5 weeks!). Start Best.

I'd go Best here...Megatron is busted up, and Best will be the offense for Detroit.

Helps plz:
