The Quarterback Question in Philly

Postby unkleskott » Mon Oct 18, 2010 6:05 pm

I am not sure if this post is in the right place, but just wanted to pick people's brains as to what is going to happen in Philly...is Kolb or Vick the guy to own?

I am not sure I would actually make a play for either of them. I have Roethlisberger and Schuab, with Bradford as my backup...but I was just interested to hear what people were predicting when it comes to this subject.

My guess is that Kolb ends up starting next week...if he plays well, he is reannointed the starter, it is back to Vick....my bet is he feels the same pressure and will play damm fine...

Anyone else?

Well you have to go with the trends, that what Reid is doing.

He has two good QBs, why not play the guy with the hot hand unless a need arises to do different.

Reid changed his mind once, I think he will again. Kolb is playing with heroic vengeance and everyone knows it. Kolb plays again week 7 for sure. If he does well, Reid will keep giving him starts. If he plays poorly, its easy for Reid to throw the bone back to Vick.

Put yourself in Reid's shoes, you have a guy that showing he can be a starter anywhere in the NFL and a guy that is just as good but coming off a chest injury without the momentum that Kolb has. He needs to stay with Kolb unless he's shown otherwise.

I wouldnt move on either of them if I were you, you have more quality at QB then perhaps any other position arguably, without looking at your roster.

The fact of the matter is if you go for one, (assuming you really need a good QB for the rest of the season) you need to move for both for the handcuff as the situation is too unpredictable to have any confidence going through the season with only 1 of them.

I still think Vick starts in Philly after the bye week. Maybe on a short leash with Kolb playing so well, but only given the option to own one or the other, I'd rather have Vick.

(Grain of salt though, as my own question is about upgrading at QB...)
