Need to pick up a WR to fill in for Floyd ... WHIR

Postby chcbb » Tue Oct 19, 2010 7:02 am

With Floyd likely out this week, I'm going to need to pick someone up as a replacement, as my other WR2 options have bye weeks. Problem is I have to drop someone...

Here's my lineup:
QB - Schaub, Flacco
WR - Johnson, Jennings, Floyd, Edwards
RB - CJ2K, Benson, Charles, Hillis, Torain
TE - Celek, Hernandez

Available WRs:
Bowe, Bess, Gaffney, Walter, Williams (TB), Manningham

I'm leaning towards picking up Bowe going against a not so good Jags pass defense, and dropping Celek - I feel like week to week Hernandez will match (if not surpass) his production, and I can probably find a serviceable TE replacement down the line if needed. Plus Vick is likely to start once he's healthy, which means less looks for Celek.

Yes i would definitely pick up Bowe. The jaguars pass D is awful and despite his early season struggles,Bowe continues to get opportunities as he proved last week.

With the names you are giving, Bowe is the best option, but just in case you overlooked him, ensure that Branch isn't available. If he is take him instead, he's picked up right where he left off as a Super Bowl MVP.

Yes I would go with Bowe or Mike Williams. Celek is the right guy to drop, however he might see more production with D-Jax out.

Definitely Bowe. Then, if he gets scooped in front of you i'd look for Crayton (Floyds fill in).

TB Mike Williams after that.

that's why I picked him up as soon as I heard of the trade before he exploded Sunday, I take risks like that all the time, just like when I picked up Torain while the game was still on after Portis got injured, and picked up Michael Vick the second Kolb was injured before Vick threw his 2nd pass :D

I would say Williams against StL is my favorite option. Bowe isn't bad against the Jags this week, but I don't like him this year. Crayton would be a good option if he's there. I think Bess is a good pick for time to come, but as a fill in this week, he has Pit so that's a lesser option.
