In my standard scoring medium depth (8 team) league, one of my opponents requested a trade of Reggie Wayne for Marques Colston & Ronnie Brown.
My main problem with this is that Wayne is a starter and my "best" WR. Secondly, Colston could make my starting line-up (even though New Orleans offensive players are so diluted with Brees throwing it to everybody), but Brown will ride the pine as I have Chris Johnson (#1 pick overall) and Tomlinson (picked up off of waivers). Our flex position is WR/TE, so no help on the added RB. I don't necessarily need to keep Wayne since he gets the best CB on him and is double covered a lot, but I want a starter for him for sure.
My opponent's players of interest are: Philip Rivers, Ben Roethilsberger, Deion Branch, Brandon Marshall, Rashard Mendenhall, and Ray Rice. Normally speaking, Mendenhall & Rice would make any one's starting line up, but with Johnson and Tomlinson, they would make nice back ups in case of a bye or injury. Basically, any way I cut it, I cannot make up the 2-4 point I lose by trading him away. Should I sacrifice the weekly points to get a decent back up or two, or should I pass?
This is My lineup this week (note Wayne is benched due to bye week)
QB Carson Palmer
WR Jeremy Maclin
WR Larry Fitzgerald
RB Chris Johnson
RB Knowshon Moreno
TE Vernon Davis
W/T Percy Harvin
BN Mike Tolbert
BN LaDainian Tomlinson (BYE)
BN Reggie Wayne (BYE)
BN Michael Vick
BN Braylon Edwards
BN Danny Woodhead
K Garrett Hartley
DEF Baltimore
Any suggestions? Keep in mind that I am 5-1-0 and in sole possession of first place in my league.
