Drop Wells?

Postby MarinersFan21 » Tue Oct 19, 2010 9:52 pm

Should I give up on Beanie Wells? Being this is the huge bye week I would have to start him as I have no on else on my bench (Best, LT on byes) Arizona has been pretty dissapointing this year (I also have Fitzgerald). Does anyone think Wells can do well this week and beyond? I was considering adding someone like Marshawn Lynch to use this week and maybe in the future. Is Lynch for Wells a good decision?

toss up. Lynch probably more likely to get a td this week and steady 50 yd games. beanie of course has more upside as the more featured back.

Yeah, that's kind of what I think too. I took Beanie fairly early in the draft assuming he would do very well. But he's continued to disappoint hence why he's always on my bench. I would hate to drop him, and this is the week he picks it up but I'd hate to start him and end up getting next to nothing out of him. Is Lynch likely to split carries?

Forsett outperformed Lynch on a per touch basis with about 70 yds and a TD. But they did praise Lynch for some reason, citing he turned loses into no gains and brought a physical presence that allowed for Forsett's success as a change of pace back. Sounds weird to me... I think Forsett would have done ok anyways, but it looks like Lynch is the red zone man and will get 60% of the touches.

I wouldn't swap as it seems more of a lateral move honestly. I rarely come ahead when making lateral moves. At this point, you at least have to consider Wells' draft position if nothing else. Someone dropped crabtree after game 3 in my league. The very next waiver cycle he was claimed. That is what will happen to Wells. Someone will pick him up and stash him if you wont.

I'd say get Lynch, only if you can by laying out someone else for him. as you're going to need to invest a couple weeks in both of these guys to see who catches traction. They are both settling into their offense again.

Well being that I'm playing the worst team in our league this week, I guess I'm safe to start Wells whether he does "bad" or not. I guess I will keep him and just pray that he does good this week. It's probably not worth it to rely on as one of you said, barely above splitting carries for Lynch. Wells should have that upside. Off topic here, but does anyone see anything of note worth changing on my roster? Improvements?

My Roster as of now (I normally start LT, but he is on bye this week):

QB Aaron Rodgers
RB Beanie Wells
RB Jahvid Best
RB/WR Ryan Torain
WR Larry Fitzgerald
WR Malcom Floyd
TE Zach Miller
DP Patrick Willis
DP Bernard Pollard
D/ST Jets D/ST
K Mike Nugent
BE Santonio Holmes
BE Ladainian Tomlinson
BE Danario Alexander
