Where Should I Go From Here (WHIR ASAP)

Postby ICanGoAllTheWay » Tue Oct 19, 2010 11:09 pm

So i'm 2-4 with a pretty good roster. Injuries have really hurt me but I'm trying to make one more move to really improve my team. I play in a standard 12 team league with no ppr. We play 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, FLEX, TE, DST, K

QB: Eli Manning, Mike Vick, McNabb
RB: MJD, Michael Turner, Ryan Mathews, Ryan Torain, Ronnie Brown
WR: Anquan Boldin, Hakeem Nicks, Gaffney, Holmes
TE: Heath Miller
DST: Giants
K: Matt Bryant
WW: Trying to pick up Garcon, Kolb and Seahawks DST

As of now, I think my main weakspot is QB and TE. I have a Love-Hate relationship with my RB's because MJD and Turner are yet to blow up this year. Torain and Mathews both seem like a strong flex start to go through the rest of the season. That means that each week one of them will likely be sitting on my bench (I have 2RB spots and a Flex, assuming MJD and Turner start each week, that leaves either Mathews or Torain sitting on my bench). Which makes me kind of want to trade one of them. TE seems like a place where I should upgrade. Perhaps try to put something together for Gates or Vernon Davis? What is too much, what is too little? The guy who has Vernon Davis needs a QB badly and a RB, and the guy who has Gates is 1-5 and badly needs RB depth (he's starting Brandon Jackson every week).

Basically I want to know where I should upgrade. Do I give up on MJD and Turner? Do I ship out one of my extra RB's (Mathews, Brown, Torain)? Do I try to get a big name TE, or upgrade at WR (trade for a Reggie Wayne). What do you all think.

Post a link of yours. As you can see, I write a lot and I love helping other people. I find it easier to help others than give my self advice. Thanks.

Honestly I'm not sure your team needs an upgrade. Im a huge believer in Vick and feel he'll be a solid number 1 qb when he returns. I also feel that your underestimating Heath Miller. Miller has been a great FF TE with Big Ben under center. And last week was evidence of that, so I dont think you need to worry there either. IF you wanted to make a move however I think that moving on Gates right now could be a good idea. If you could part with a Matthews/Torain and Eli/McNabb that would be great, hell I'd even throw in Miller to sweeten the deal if he passed on the first offer. If you wanted to make a big splash in the WR area then I'd def consider moving either Turner or MJD for a high profile WR. Unfortunatley you'd have to prob part with Gaffney or Holmes in order to get that rolling. Right now Torain has a lot of hype surrounding him which makes him a good trade candidate especially for the guy starting BJax every week. I'd suggest moving Torain over Matthews if at all possible. Just a few ideas. Hopefully some of them help you with decisions and best of luck to you in the future. ;-D

I agree. I think you look fine and Heath will be a very good TE now that Ben is back. And once Vick comes back, he should be a good QB1 for you as well. however, I would try to pick up Garcon though. I think he can be a consistent WR3 with high WR2 upside potential

thanks for the help with mine

please let me know who I would drop if I pick up a QB in mine too:

You could attempt to deal a turner or MJD for another elite wr, as it can never hurt to have stud wr, and as you stated you will always have one of those back on the bench as torain and mathews ( will break out) are viable starters moving forward as well . With that said your team is pretty solid though so dont undersell your guys either. :)
