Pickup Pierre Garcon or Denario Alexander from waivers?

Postby PhantasyTime » Thu Oct 21, 2010 8:02 am

Just as title says.

I also have Reggie Wayne.

Garcon had a great last week, but done little otherwise. With Dallas Clark now out, he could become more valuable. Having Reggie Wayne and Garcon playing would give a nice hedge where assuming Peyton does his usual 300yds and 2-3 TDs i'm probably assured of almost 200yds total and 1-2 TDs.

I know little about Denario other than no Clayton and Avery make him a top choice as Amendola likely gets the most scrutiny by DBs. He is a big target (6'5") and had a great last week, but hear he is injury prone. Bradford is also questionable.

I'm struggling on this.

I would suggest Garcon is probably slightly the better overall value bearing in mind Alexander has had just 1 game so far - however if you already have Reggie Wayne and would not be planning on starting both him + Garcon at the same time, then I would probably take a gamble on Alexander and see how he gets on...

Part of the plan might be to start both Wayne and Garcon. One can blow up while the other does ok. I feel like it's a good hedge and with only Collie a big remaining target, it seems 200+ yds and 2 TDs for starting both players is very reasonable.

Seems like a no brainer now w/news that Collie is out for several weeks on account of hand surgery.

I have to start both Wayne and Garcon right?

Done a LOT of reading on Alexander this past week and have signed him to a long term deal in my dynasty league as a result. However, in a redraft and with his schedule and with the Rams sorta easing this kid along i doubt he'll pay big dividends for those in redrafts this year.

And i was just about to say what you just said, Collie will be out several weeks and wen he returns he'll be less of a factor to begin with then what he has been. Pickup Garcon.

Not a big fan of playing 2 WR From the same team on a regular basis. Sure, you're hedging your bets but what that means is you're also limiting your upside. And, if Indy has a tough week passing then you're screwed in the WR Department. However, this might be the only exception i would make as no other two WR are as capable of putting up simultaneous respectable numbers as Collie/Wayne are with the big P throwin their way.

And w/ Clark out, these guys could see some extra targets.

Again, go w/ Collie, but you may want to shop one of them around for a top WR (probably Wayne as he has more name recognition and will probably end up w/ similar #'s to Garcon).

Good luck and please help w/ mine:
