Please help: Would you try to trade for a QB?

Postby Rrolack » Sun Oct 24, 2010 3:38 pm

I've got some serious QB problems; the 3 QBs on my roster are Cutler, Stafford and V. Young. Cutler has looked horrible since his concussion and after today's game, I'm not too confident starting him in the future. Stafford and V. Young should be back next week, though they're not solid plays either.

We start 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex. Perhaps I could trade Ocho or Witten + Royal/Bess for someone?

One guy in my league has Flacco + Palmer, and another has Kolb + Henne + Sanchez, so those are the potential options. WW is thin, though Freeman, Bradford, Hasselback and Fitzpatrick are available.

QB: Cutler, Stafford, V. Young
RB: Rice, Best, LT, T. Jones
WR: C. Johnson, Jennings, Ochocinco, Bess, Royal
TE: Keller, Witten
K: Bironas
D: NO

I think you should stay put. Your team looks pretty damn solid. I would roll with Stafford this week. Guy's got a ton of potential, just gotta hope that he stays healthy. Help with mine please:

Do Not trade for a QB.

Burn your waiver priority on Fitzpatrick immediately. 4 weeks straight of solid performances should be enough for you to feel comfortable with in starting Fitz if you dont like Stafford coming back.

Personally I like Stafford and I think he is the best at the moment of your three. Vince Young is a solid play and so was Culter pre-concussion, but I look for him to bounce back nicely from his knee/ankle injury.

You'll give up way too much for a good starting QB and all that will do is thin your roster out elsewhere.

In the off-chance that the guy holding Palmer has never played him this season, he may come off him somewhat easily. Im not interested in Kolb, Henne or Sanchez as all but Kolb seems mediocre and Kolb is on bye and isnt a starter at the moment.

Send him a somewhat low-ball offer on Palmer for a position in which he is weak and see if he bites. I wouldn't offer up anything better than your flex spot for him though considering you have WW options and Stafford. Ideally you'll have some depth that you sit every week in a position where he could use the help or maybe he needs a bye-week fill-in in the next 2 weeks. That would be ideal if your interested in Palmer.

I like the lowball offer on a QB...but don't see a guy that I would send out for that lowball offer...maybe Witten...but your WR's are all too good for a straight up offer.

I'd stand pat...and take a flier on the kid from the Bills...if you make a move at all...

Help if you can...
