Donald Brown worth a #2 waiver pick? -- WHIR

Postby zechs » Thu Oct 28, 2010 6:07 am

Should I use a #2 waiver pick on Donald Brown. He may just turn out to be a rental with Addai's return from injury looming.

This is a 12-team midseason PPR league which started at week 7 and playoffs start at week 14. I'm currently ranked 1st (3rd in total pts. scored).
Roster:
QB- Michael Vick, Kevin Kolb, Jon Kitna, David Garrard
WR- Marques Colston, Johnny Knox, Eddie Royal, Jacoby Jones
RB- Steven Jackson, Ryan Torain, Shonn Greene, Mike Tolbert, Danny Woodhead
TE- Tony Moeaki K- Josh Scobee DEF- Seattle Seahawks

So, should I burn a waiver pick on Donald Brown at this point of the season, or hold out until playoff time?

Thanks in advance for your input and it is much appreciated.

Thanks for the help with mine!

I drafted and subsequently dumped Brown a few weeks back. I think he has huge upside given the fragility of Addai and the offensive firepower he plays with, but he's not been very durable himself during his relatively short career. Add that you're in 1st, and he's not 100% to play this week, I'd probably hold out. HTH.

I've never played in a midseason league before. So, I don't know what the WW looks like. But, I'm not suspecting that too many better picks will be around. Also, more availability at WR than RB. WIth Torain being a question mark about playing time once Portis comes back, I think you need the most help at RB. I don't think it's a bad idea to pick up Brown

How good are the other owners in your league? At some point I'd imagine someone would have bye issues and be forced to drop someone with more value than Brown, but if it's a league of solid owners there's obviously less chance of that. I'm not that high on Brown this season so I'd lean toward holding off.
When in doubt, punt!

I'd think long term, and Brown probably won't be much come week 12/13.
