Trade Roddy White for Frank Gore???WHIR!!!

Postby FantasyLife28 » Fri Oct 29, 2010 7:17 am

Non PPR...
Start 2 RB
2 WR
1 Flex WR/RB

I am considering the following trade proposal...

Give: Roddy White and Reggie Bush
Receive: Frank Gore and Steve Smith (CAR)

I have Hines Ward, Larry Fitz, and Lee Evans at WR
and Adrian Peterson and Knowshon Moreno at RB

I think the trade makes my team more balanced... hard to let Roddy go though!

Thoughts?

Is this a dynasty league? Why else would Reggie be in the trade? I say pull the trigger. It does give you more balance and your running game would be nasty. Smith has more good upside if Carolina can figure something out.

But I would turn around and package 2 wr's for 1 wr, with someone who is shallow at wr. As a Fitz over this year, I'm scared.

I make the trade and hope fitz or smith turns it around. you can find a gaffney or the likes on ww. AP and Gore makes a good duo. Bush is worth nothing.

QB Stafford, Kaepernick
RB Foster, McFadden, SJax, Moreno, B. Tate

Well, Bush is not worth nothing, but is not a significant factor in this deal.

I Say you absolutely do this deal.

Before Trade

RB: AP/Moreno
WR: Roddy/Fitz
FLex: Ward

After Trade

RB: AP/Gore
WR: Fitz/S SMith (Or Ward)
Flex: Moreno

Much more balance, much more dominant, especially come playoff time. AP/Gore? Come on...dirty stuff...and Moreno has a sicko playoff schedule. RB's generate more consistent output while WR's are fairly inconsistent, even the great Roddy White.

Always take consistent RB Studs over WR Studs....always!

Look at it another way. The pick is on you and it's the first round and you have a choice between Gore and Roddy White...

Who do you pick?I realize there is more to it than that with team needs and what not, but the choice is easy either way...Take the Deal..

Good luck and please help w/ mine:

I would make the deal although I think Fitzgerald will have issues throughout the year. Arizona's QB situation is a mess and unless someone can constantly get the ball he is going to struggle.

Even with that said; I think your lineup will have better balance after the trade.

tough one but I'd do it, with Moore back I do indeed see smith having value, though never roddy value...bush is worthless, so the gore upgrade really solidifies your team. Do it, it's a risk, but go for it, risk is what championships are made of sometimes.

thanks for help with mine,

Great question as it is tough as nails.

Here are your positives if you make the trade:

AP and Gore are two top 5 running backs and you can play them with confidence each week and they'll produce.
Roddy White in my opinion has given you his best. I know he is a top 5 WR but he can't keep this torrid pace up.
Big Ben loves Hines Ward so you can play him and not worry about a huge drop.

Negatives:
Steve Smith and Fitzy are immensely talented BUT are limited by their QB's big time. They are top 5 talent, but not top 10 fantasy guys currently.
Moreno gets hurt all the time, has to have the weakest hammy in the league.

Think about these and make your decision, I would make the move if I were you.

Im not so sure.....White leads the league in targets and I dont think he will drop off at all. He is averaging an insane 17.8 pts/game for me and I am killing with him. He is a consistent WR-tough to find. He has scored over 12.5 points in every game except 1-and in that game he scored 8.3. Gore has 2 games under 10-White has been more consistent. In my league (6-TD, .1-1 yard rushing/receiving,5pt bonus over 100 of rushing or receiving) Gore has scored 125.40 and White has scored 124.70. If you can get a WR that scores like a top 5 RB, those are harder to find (IMO). You can always find a RB that does a solid job (someone like Addai or Benson-both average 12 pts a game) but not a WR that is a solid 12 each game

I wouldn't do it. White has been an absolute BEAST at WR this year. You have a suspect WR corp if you do.
