Wayne and Benson for Gore and S. Smith (NYG) or L. Moore?

Postby rlestra5 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 10:51 am

Please see my current lineup below. I am a little thin at running back due to the mediocre play of Cedric Benson so far this season as my RB2. I was considering trading Benson and one of my wideouts to another team for a stud running back. So the offer that came back to me is Wayne and Benson for Frank Gore and either S. Smith of the Giants or L. Moore of the Saints. If I did the trade, I would certainly be stacked at running back with Foster, Gore, and F. Jones as my #3 back. However, I would fall a little thin at WR with no true #1 wideout available anymore. The only thing that seems enticing to me is that if you look at total fantasy points on the year, Malcom Floyd had posted almost the same numbers as Reggie Wayne before he went down to injury. Floyd will either be back in Week 9 or after the Chargers’ bye week in Week 11 and if he can resume the kind of numbers he was posting before his injury, he could fill in for the absence of Wayne as my #1 receiver. In conclusion, I am a little torn both ways and I wanted to see what others here thought before I went ahead with the trade. Thanks to everyone and I will certainly help you out with your trades if you can provide some insight on mine!

QB - Rodgers
WR - Wayne
WR - Ward
WR - M. Williams (TB)
RB - Foster
RB - Benson
TE - Hernandez
FLEX - F. Jones
K - Nugent

Is it PPR? If so then I'd say Gore and Smith would be a great price for those two. If not, I'm a bit more squeamish because of how thin you'd be at WR...

Last I heard, Floyd might be out until Week 11 or 12, and could not be fully ready to go then (plus VJax will be back in week 12 and COULD complicate things further in SD).

It's more or less a push standard leagues, but if it's not PPR I would stay put with Wayne - I think he'll really go nuts in the second half with Clark out and almost every other pass catcher in Indy being either oft-injured and/or inexperienced :-?
