Pick up DeAngelo Williams, drop Baltimore D?

Postby Fuqyu » Sat Oct 30, 2010 2:28 pm

Someone in my league dropped Williams. Because of they way my team is set up, I'd have to drop my Baltimore defense (who is on bye) to snatch him. Would this be wise? Here's a breakdown of who I have:

QB:
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buf

RB:
Jonathan Stewart, Car (can't drop cuz he's starting this week)
Adrian Peterson
Felix Jones, Dal
Shonn Greene, NYJ

WR:
Calvin Johnson, Det
Dwayne Bowe, KC
Steve Smith, Car
Steve Smith, NYG
Mike Williams, TB
Vincent Jackson, SD (I could drop him instead, but I'm nervous about doing that...I doubt he lasts another week on the waiver wire, and I have high hopes for him)

K:
Janikowski

Def:
Baltimore Ravens
Denver Broncos (starting due to bye for Ravens)

Any thoughts on this? Would it be worth losing a top defense, even though the ravens really have been unspectacular this year? I am also considering waiting until next week and picking him up for the Denver defense as soon as I can drop them, but once again, I don't know if Williams will last that long on the waiver wire. Or, if I do lose the Baltimore defense, there is a chance I can snag the Chicago defense off the waiver wire instead.

I agree with the above comment, and dropped the Ravens D in one of my leagues this past week for the bye.

The Ravens D is not quite the same as years past as they can't seem to put much pressure on the QB, have questionable secondary, and their return game is god awful right now, so it wouldn't be much of a loss if you can't get them back after the bye.
QB- Ryan Luck
RB- Rice, McGahee, F Jax, M Leshoure, D Martin, Bilal, B Pierce
WR- J Nelson, E Decker, D Amendola, B LaFell
TE- J Graham
K- Gould
