M. Wallace for Roethlisberger? WHIR!

Postby Valandir » Sun Oct 31, 2010 7:43 pm

Hey all, looking to improve my QB depth but week after week I'm stuck thinking that my WR options really aren't that good in reality even if they're supposed to be great on paper. Marshall and Jennings never seem to consistently find the end zone, which makes Wallace so tantalizing to keep, even if I haven't used him yet in a game. Supposed to be a second half breakout star, and I think Wallace is more valuable than Roethlisberger in a vacuum, but I might get more out of using Roethlisberger and Flacco on different weeks. What do you guys think, or should I be trying to move Maclin or Ward? Other team likes Wallace I think, but could try and change his mind.

Then why not offer them first? I recommend you start out with a low end package deal and work your way up.

Yeah, or MacClin they will be about the same. I'd take Ben over Flacco any day, maybe trade Flacco later to someone who thinks he is good.

Confused about the package deal? Do you mean I should try and package my WRs for someone better than Roethlisberger?

I would try trading jennings for him first, then work your way up. I don't think I would give up wallace for him simply because if you can get Ben, pairing him up with wallace is good to do.

I agree with this. If you can live with having Ward/Wallace as your WR2 (which I think you can), trading Jennings for Big Ben would be great. Honestly, it's harder to gauge what pieces he might like from your team without knowing his roster.

Thanks for the help!

People like Wallace more than Jennings then? I was sort of feeling Ward, Wallace, and Maclin all below Jennings/Marshall, so I'd start with one of those guys to trade. It just feels like Wallace is more of a boom/bust player with the big plays, and with a deep team I feel like it's usually better to start reliable guys and go for the consistent mid to high scoring games instead of the occasional crazy 120+ points.
