Trade for Moss

Postby ocbc » Tue Nov 02, 2010 9:43 pm

Need advice quick as this involves a wavier pick tonight.

12 team league Standard scoring with yardage bonuses and 6pts for all TD's. I'm 2-6 last place need to make a change.

We play 1QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE, 1K, 1 DST

Heres my team:
QB: Flacco, Cutler, Stafford
RB: J. Charles, R. Mathews, Beanie Wells, J. Stewart, D. Brown
WR: A. Johnson, S. Smith (NYG), S. Smith (Car), J. Knox, M. Willams (sea)
Te: O. Daniels

Heres the offer: R. Moss, J. Best, and #2 waiver (I already have #1) for Stafford, Wells, and Smith (Car)

What are your thoughts. Worth the risk with Moss? I can grab Breaston off the waviers to fill any void at WR.

Thanks Leave link and I will help!

I would pass. You have that waiver claim which can help fill any weaknesses. I dont trust Randy Moss to actually play with any effort anywhere besides NE whether or not he gets signed again. I would be scared to take the Moss gamble. I also dont think J. Best is sweetens the deal enough to take it. Since Stafford is back and connecting with Johnson, the running game in Detroit could get smaller. Besides, Charles can put some great numbers up and with Gates/ Floyd/ Jackson not playing regularly/ at all, Mathews will be getting some extra carries to help Rivers out.

I hope I helped man. Take what I say carefully cause Im a rookie to fantasy lol. Good luck in your next game :-)

He may be a rookie, but I agree with this poster! I'd stay away...of course I'm telling everybody to stay away from Randy Moss...he had it made in either NE or Minny if he could keep his head on straight, but he couldn't. We saw how he did with Oakland, a "lesser" team (at the time), and I guess it will be similar to that. Good luck & please help...thanks!

I agree. You don't need Best with your RBs and you don't need Moss in that mix. I traded for Moss, only because I'm 6-2 and gave up Breston (who I just picked up as a FA). He can warm my bench until he decides what to do with the rest of the season.

Agree with the other comments, pass. Moss is completely worthless right now... even if he gets picked up he'll have a learning curve on any offense, and he'll likely get signed as a decoy. As for Best I'm not high on his upside with the turf toe injury (it won't go away until the offseason) and you lose your waiver priority.

You need a lot more for a guy who's going to pass like a madman, a starting RB who's healthy, and a potentially high reward WR. If he'll drop Wells from the trade then sure, but otherwise no dice.

I think it's worth it. Best is an upgrade from Wells, and you're essentially trading depth anyway. Only your starting line-up will matter in the end.
QB: Cutler, Freeman
RB: Blount
RB: Bradshaw
WR: A. Johnson (Gaffney)
WR: Wayne
RB/WR/TE: Nicks (Boss)
RB/WR/TE: Tomlinson (Greene, Jennings, Davis)
K: Brown
DST: Giants

I'm more along the line of this thought than the previous posts. This late in the season you should slowly be forgetting about depth and trying to put the best guys in your starting lineup. I would probably pull the trigger.
