I know the debate rages on about whether there should be any blockage of trades between 2 sober, consenting adults (especially in a league that has no voting on trades). However:
#1 guy trades Ryan Matthews, Braylon Edwards and Visanthe Shiancoe for #12 guy's Frank Gore, Dez Bryant, and Todd Heap
Especially when it's the #1 guy in the league trading to the desperate #12 guy. It just seems bad for the league.
Without knowing the scoring rules in your league i think the deal is somewhat equal. Edwards is on the decline, maybe a #3 WR now. Dez depends on Kitna now, and I don't ever care about tight ends. either of them can score any given week. The main trade here looks like a straight up #1 for #1 RB, which nulls the trade, IMO..

?!?!?!!?!?!?
The trade I think favors #1, but it's not outrageous. TE's and WR's are pretty equal, and cancel out. RB's don't, Matthews is inconsistent and splits with Tolbert, Sproles. Gore is a tank and is about 80% of that offense. But like I said, it's not absolutely crazy, so I dont think you can veto.
the 1st 2 posters are idiots or drunk, yes id veto and dez is worth more than braylon also. You don't trade ryan mathews for gore. Gore is a top 4 player, mathews is not. Simple stuff. Veto and email people in your league to veto and dont be a wimp
I can't see how Gore doesn't get more than what's offered here. Mathews is mediocre, Edwards has been negated with Holmes and Schiancoe will see his stock tick up with Moss gone.
Dez is playing well, Gore is a machine, and Heap is a decent TE.
I don't know if it's completely veto worthy, but I don't think it's entirely fair either.
Guys, thanks for input. we did some research and in fact, after a couple offers and counter offers, it was actually #12 that offered the GORE package!!!!!!
His excuse for the fire sale was that he was desperate and Gore was on a bye this week. His feeling: If he lost this week, his season was definitely over.
Rescinding this, or really any trade sets a bad precedent, bad for the league. But a guy making the #1 guy this much stronger out of desperation is also very bad for the league.
The TEs are even, but there is no way Mathews and Edwards come close to equating the value of Gore and Bryant...if it is a PPR league it becomes even worse...
I am not a fan of vetoing trades, as in many cases it is just other owners whining, and I prefer to let people play it out, but what does #12 stand to gain from this transaction, besides 20% of the pot as a thank you when his colluding patner wins...
who says this favors the first team?? matthews is NOT a #1 running, just because he was drafted as high as a number one doesnt make him one.. he is the biggest bust of the season. gore is an absolute stud, not to mention his cake of a schedule coming up for the fantasy playoff season!! just for comparison, i had gore and traded him along with ocho-stinko( only because my wr2 and 3 was knox and ocho and i needed help at wr bad!) but i got brandon marshall, percy harvin, and peyton hillis.. while the trade has definatly helped me out i still miss gore, he is one of the only backs whose average is an actual average he consistently puts up points every week, hes not a guy with a good average because he scored 50 points 1 week then 5 the next
so no way gore for matthews is even
1 point ppr stafford, henne best, deangelo, mccoy, benson, starks fitzgerald, d-jax, jordy nelson, harvin, hester gates, gonzalez rackers baltimore
unkleskott, thankks. Actually it was NOT collusion. Both are honest lads. Both don't need the $. One is my brother. So, that was not the issue. I believe the real issue is the next most common league-killer (after collusion), and the harder one with which to deal. Namely: the dissonance between the Guys not caring enough vs. the Guys caring too much. The #1 guy is ravenous to maintain his lead and dominate in the playoffs. The #12 guy is usually there for mostly bad luck, but partly disinterest or inability. He was the real problem here. He probably figured. Well, this is the best I can do right now and I don't have the time or the time left to find a better deal and I must win this week. I'll just do this and wing it. With no care that it makes #1 almost unbeatable.
I don't know the solution other than not asking that guy back. And although I curse the amount of luck in Fantasy, this is one of the times I will root for it. Because just a one week of bad luck in week #14 and #1 guy could be done.
