CJ/Gettis for SJ/Welker?

Postby Warhawk » Mon Nov 08, 2010 12:01 pm

So I'm 3-6 even though before this week I had the second most points in the league... want to know if this might help me make the playoffs.

Relevant settings are:
Receptions: 1 point
Receiving yards: 1 point / 10 yards
Receiving TDs: 6 points
Rushing attempts: 1 point (seriously)
Rushing yards: 1 point / 10 yards
Rushing TDs: 6 points

Basically I'd be giving Chris Johnson and David Gettis for Steven Jackson and Wes Welker. The question is whether the downgrade at RB is worth the upgrade at WR, and really how much of a downgrade at RB it really is in the first place.

Here's my other RBs and WRs, besides the two I'd be giving or receiving in this trade. We start 2 RBs, 3 WRs, and a RB/WR Flex. No byes left for any of these guys.

RB: Ahmad Bradshaw, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Marion Barber, Donald Brown, Clinton Portis, LaRod Stephens-Howling
WR: Calvin Johnson, Steve Smith (NYG), Michael Jenkins, Laurent Robinson

I have a WW request in wherein I'd drop Robinson for Owen Daniels, since one of my TEs (we start 2) is Gates, and he's hurt and on a bye next week.

So, is this a good trade for me?

Welker = 70 points (about right?)
SJ = 282 points
combined = 352 points

CJ = 338 points
Gettis = 56 points
combined = 393 points.

Also, remember that CJ had 2 very bad games against 2 very strong run defenses. He put up numbers nearly equal to Welker and SJ combined on basically just 6 games. To me, I'd stick wit CJ and play the best WR available (check match-ups) ad come out better than SJ + Welker on most weeks. I would not make this trade.
This aint a NYC auto garage, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

12 team redraft: Rivers (Q1), CJ (R1), McFadden (R2), B Wells (R3), Caddy (R4), Forsett (R5), AJ (W1), Fitz (W2), Royal (W3), Sims-Walker (W4), V Jax (W5), V Davis (T1), Kaeding (K1), Jets (D1)
