Trade Charles to Upgrade at WR? WHIR

Postby Stelly » Tue Nov 09, 2010 2:52 pm

My team is in my signature below. It's a 10-team non-ppr league. 1pt/10yds rushing and receiving, 6 pts for all TDs.

I have been approached by another owner about trading one of Rice, Charles or Hillis for a WR. He has R. Wayne, DeSaun Jackson, and M. Austin.

Consider the keeper implications: I can keep Rice next year for my 4th round pick, so I really do not want to trade him. I can keep Charles for my 2nd rd pick next year, which would be pretty good value in this league (our 2nd round this year looked more like 3rd round) and RBs are scarce. Hillis cannot be kept.

If I acquired them, I could keep Wayne in the 1st (not happening), DJax in the 3rd (definitely would) and I would not be able to keep Austin.

My question is this - do I try and move either Charles or Hillis for Wayne or DJax? I'm hesitant to trade away Charles b/c he has a very nice schedule leading up to the playoffs, but I would still start Rice and Hillis. Meanwhile Hillis has a great playoff schedule, so I'm not thrilled about giving him up either. Rotating the 3 backs should give me great matchups most of the time.

My WRs are good - White and Jennings start every week, and I plug in the best option out of R. Moss, Knox and S. Smith (Car) as my WR3. Britt is injured for who knows how long.

So - should I try and make a deal to upgrade my WR3 (even though my WR1 and WR2 are studs), or am I better off standing pat with what I have? Maybe try Charles for DJax since we both end up with a good keeper? All thoughts are appreciated!!

Thanks, and leave a link!

I don't feel that this trade will do much to help you in eithe rthe short or long term. I wouldn't bother if I were you, your squad is solid as is. PS thanks for helping on mine.

I would agree. I don't think that you would get a good enough upgrade to mess with it. You have solid options as is, leave it be.
