Rice/Tolbert for Best/Tamme/Bush, 100% WHIR

Hey all. 14 team league, non ppr and otherwise standard scoring and looking to load up for the playoffs. I've been very successful (currently 9-0, first in scoring) but some other teams are making moves. I'm not sold on this trade, but when big players start getting involved it always piques my interest. Would this trade push me over the top?

I give: Jahvid Best, Jacob Tamme, Michael Bush
I get: Ray Rice, Mike Tolbert

My current roster
QB: Rodgers, Kitna
RB: CJ, Best, Lynch, Bush
WR: R. White, Jennings, MSW, Hester
TE: Tamme, Moeaki

I guess what it comes down to is whether the downgrade from Tamme to Moeaki is smaller than the upgrade from Best to Rice (Or is there an even upgrade from Best to Rice?) I'm not necessarily convinced that Rice will greatly outperform Best over the rest of the year, and Tamme may be a top 5 TE option from here on out. Enlighten me.

Oh, also: I counteroffered Best, Moeaki and Bush for Ray Rice and CJ Spiller, and would gladly take that if the other owner was so inclined, but I'm guessing the odds on that one are slim.

Help me out, leave a link and I'll return.

That's pretty close. I think there's going to be a very large difference between Tamme and Moaki, obviously. Rice is an upgrade from Best and he does have some favorable matchups coming up(TB, CAR, HOU) and not really any tough run defenses anymore aside from ATL this week and PIT one more time. Tolbert provides more depth than Bush, but it's unlikely you'll play either one unless their counterpart gets hurt and they have a good matchup so I think that's almost a wash.

I'd definitely rather do that other trade. As you're not having to give up Tamme. Not sure if he goes for that though.

I guess you gotta ask if you think Rice's upside is big enough to counteract the drop in production you will get at the TE position. I'd probably do it but it's really a 50/50 thing. I could go either way.

I think I would say yes. I now that Tamme had a big game this week, but to get Rice in the deal I think that it would be hard to pass up on that. I'd say go for it, I know that I wouldn't want to play a team with Rodgers, Rice and CJ. Good luck.

I guess my problem with this deal is trying to peg Ray Rice's value NOW. I know he came into every board as the number 4 option. But he's YP catch and carry both are a couple ticks down. Willis is doing his normal thing. The rest of his schedule is nicer than Best's though.
