I am thinking about dropping Williams for Jackson as he has been a waste of a draft pick and I don't see ever playing him with the QB situation in Carolina. This is not a very trade friendly league so I don't even try anymore.
PPR league, 1 qb 2 rb, 2 rb, 1 flex, 1 te, 1 D, 1 K QBs: Vick, Rivers RB: Bradshaw, Hillis, S. Jackson, Torain, D. Williams WR: B. Lloyd, Steve Johnson, D. Bryant, D. Jackson TE: Tamme, V. Davis K: Tynes Def: Minnesota
I'm just going to start off by tossing this out there. You don't necessarily need two TE. But I could understand not wanting to let either of those go for sure.
I'm in a similar boat - trades are nonexistent, WW pool is shallow, and stuck with DAW.
I keep waiting for some kind of outburst from him. But as the number of weeks til play offs grow short, so does my patience. Two years ago I watched him go off towards the end of the season and I still hold him responsible for ruining my run at the playoffs when I went up against his 4 touchdowns in week 13. But just last year, he didn't play in 3 of the last 5 weeks and was held without a touchdown after week 9. That's just poor performance. And Carolina just isn't the same team as a couple years ago. So it's hard to see any upside to keeping DAW. You've got four guys that I would start over him without a doubt. Dez's value has obviously taken a huge boost with Kitna in the line up so that makes a good receiving corps as well. I would go for V Jackson. Great receiver on a passing team with a great passer (plus double credit with Rivers in the lineup).
It's tough. I'm a D williams owner too, and there is no way he'll be coming off my bench this season. Even if he has a good game or two which seems unlikely I don't think I'd ever trust him. I think you can drop him to make that pickup, though with your roster I don't think you need to. If you're like me, and don't think youll play him (b/c he'd need to string together a few games first), go ahead and do it. If Jackson was available in my league I would.
Your team is pretty stacked and I also would try to grab VJax, even if you don't play him, you don't have to worry about playing against him. I would say that right now DWill is the most likely to be dropped on your team if you are unable to do a 2 for 1 trade. There offense is just plan bad in Carolina and there running game went from being a league best to a league worst. I would maybe try and trade Tamme and a wr/rb to a team for a top rb if possible. If not grab VJ and drop DWill. good luck.
I don't think I need two TE also, but I would rather roster one of them so someone else in the league doesn't get him.
I dropped Williams for Jackson as I don't see the situation improving.
The trading in this league is near impossible as no one responds to anything so I will hold onto Jackson and see how he turns out. I'm in 2nd place at 6/3 right now.
