WR pickup WHIR **

Postby hesparza77 » Fri Nov 12, 2010 10:12 am

I need a big pick up heading into the playoffs. A couple of tough losses has me at 4th place in division at 5-4 and the most points scored in the league. I'm in a tough division with 3 6-3 teams and two 5-4, so if I win 3 of the next 4, I'd say I have a good chance of making the play offs.

That being said, I am looking at a couple of talented receivers coming off injury or suspension that are free agents at the moment. I could wait til after this week's round of games to make some changes since I had to pick up a DST and kicker to start for Janikowski and the Packers, but I might miss out on a WW claim. So I could drop Bess who I am not playing this week to make a pick up right now.

First, who has more future value in your opinion, V Jackson or S Rice?
Is the value worth dropping Bess right now?

I like Jackson, and I like that he isn't out b/c of injury. But I already have Floyd and Gates from the Bolts and I hate to over load from one team. That being said, they are such a dynamic passing team, and it is Rivers passing to them, so it might work out.

Please spread the love a little my way.

Not sure on the size of your league or if its PPR. But I don't think Bess is going to get you the consistency of points. Plus at least for now you have a change of QB to deal with. I dropped Bess last week in a 10 team .5 PPR league. But I would defiantly say either Vjax or Rice is worth dropping Bess as a general principle depending on your complete team.

Between VJax and S Rice I would say Vjax but the fact you have Floyd and Gates (which I do too) I would prob focus elsewhere. I am just not a fan of all my eggs in one basket. Plus looks like Vjax is doing great in practice but who knows when and how much he will play. They have proven they don't really need him.

I like Jackson over Rice just because of the QB situation. Favre has been doing better of the past few games. I think the Vikings need that deep threat from Rice but he is coming off that hip surgery. But I agree with the fact you don't want to many eggs in a basket so I would probably go Rice. i don't think you will go wrong with either choice. I think the talk is that Rice would be back before Jackson as well.

I'd go with Rice. I think Floyd is still going to be the top receiver in San Diego after Jackson comes back.
