I say yes only because you have Tamme right behind him. McFadden really shores up your RB corps and you can't even be sure Gates will play next week. I think I would do it.

Tamme is a good TE, but certainly won't match Gates' ability. You do have a chance for double digit each week with Tamme, and he is winning the confidence of his QB and O coordinator.
Gates was best when the star receivers were healthy, and no matter what, he gets his targets, especially in the red zone. With V Jax set to return in a couple weeks, and Naanee and Floyd close to healthy, defenses are going to have their hands full and that will leave Gates open to continue rolling.
I think what hampers DMC is the number of scoring ops he gets moving forward. Oak has Bush and even Reece as options to run it in. I think DMC will continue to get stronger as the season goes though.

Injuries are a major concern, especially the plantar fascia, but I just wonder if you can't get anything more for Gates right now than DMC. At 8-1 you have the luxury of waiting out a couple rough weeks in case Gates is around 75% after the bye, which is what I would suspect. Personally, I would shop for a better deal at RB.

Please take a look for me; post if you think you can help

Well at this point I feel I have the playoffs assured so I am not to worried about week 11-14. I guess my real question is my league lets you play a TE in flex. would a Tamme/McFadden combo be better that a Tamme/Gates combo over the long term Especially week 15-16.

Well what level RB do you think you would go for. I don't know if this is good Strategy but almost all the 1-10RB are held by the teams still in contention for the playoffs and I am not sure I want to trade Gates to a team that may come back and bite me.

I'm not sure about the roster status of potential play off teams out there - you could always wait out week 10 and see where the standings fall then. Might even have more news about Gates to help your decision.

Usually I would go for a top running back over a receiver any day, but Gates is special. Maybe I am biased cuz I hold Gates on my roster and I am assigning more value to him than I should. What is motivating me more is red zone targets/carries and goals scored so far. Gates has 9 TDs on the year, and made 6 TD out of 12 RZ targets. And that is with all the other talented receivers surrounding him, it's not like he is the only option by far so he's not always going to get double coverage.

Well my only reason not to wait is the trade deadline out league has as 11:59pm PST tonight.

I don't think that either defense is a major factor, Balt isn't what they once were. So it boils down to Gates for McF. If you do this it shores up your rb situation, but then you have to rely on Tamme at te. So is he a one week wonder that only played well because the other team didn't think that he would be a factor or will he produce each week. To me I'm going for it. Good luck
