Running Back Dilemma

Postby intl » Sat Nov 13, 2010 12:37 am

The regular season schedule is winding down and my team is looking pretty good. From next week on, my starters would be as follows:

Philip Rivers, Ahmad Bradshaw, Marshawn Lynch, Andre Johnson, Brandon Lloyd, Marques Colston, Jacob Tamme, Steelers D/ST, and Dan Carpenter.

As you can see, my lineup looks good except Marshawn Lynch. I just picked up Willis McGahee this week from waivers, but he's not a number 1 option for the Ravens running game with Ray Rice there. I also have Mike Tolbert (possibly some production with Ryan Matthews hurt and struggling) and Michael Crabtree as well as Marcedes Lewis, who is my backup TE. I've been trying to deal Aaron Rodgers, who is my backup QB along with either Marshawn Lynch, Mike Tolbert, Willis McGahee and Michael Crabtree, but am not having any luck. My question is this: I have Clinton Portis and Pierre Thomas available as free agents; should I get one of them?

I feel like I'm this one move away from having a legitimate chance at taking the league.

Thanks for the inputs.

Definitely sell rodgers high, seeing as you have the top 2 qb's in the league. Try and trade for a top RB and another QB. Trade for say, Mcfadden or hillis, and palmer or fitzpatrick.

I forgot to mention I picked up Josh Freeman for this week. I'm covered in terms of QB. Having a hard time trading away Rodgers surprisingly.

As for Pierre Thomas and Clinton Portis, should I get one of them?

Well you have to trade a qb, I would put it out there that they are both available and get the best rb possible for either of them. It will do you no good to have them both and one of them sitting on your bench. I would keep an eye on Pierre and see what he does when he finally comes back from his ankle injury. Good luck.

Yeah you need to pick up Thomas. I can't believe you can't move Rogers for a RB... keep trying. Lynch is ok, but his OL is terrible. Only thing he's got going for him is hi cupcake schedule the rest of the way.
