Bench Marshall?

Postby zippytrash » Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:52 pm

My 2nd round pick, who's been playing like an 8th or worse. Is it time that I no longer view him as a must-start every week? I mean he's not scoring, his looks are way down, and their QB situation is a mess.

I need to pick two WR for this week.

Gaffney @ SD
Marshall vs. CHI
N.Washington vs. WAS
Amendola vs. ATL

scoring and roster below
12 team, 0.5 PPR, 10yds rush/rec, 25 pass yd, 6 point TDs
1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1WR/RB/TE, 1K, 1DEF/ST
QB: Vick, Freeman
WR: Marshall, Gaffney, Amendola, N.Washington, VJax
RB: Peterson, Foster, Charles, Portis
TE: Keller,
DEF: MIN

I'd keep him in.

Dwayne Bowe had by far the most consistent career of his season with Thigpen under center in 2008. The guy isn't bad; I'd give Marshall one last chance this week before nailing him to the pine.

I traded him for VD, he is trash (in FF terms, not in real life).

The Bears have been very good defensively against QB's and Thigpen really isn't going to have that much prep time so I can see Miami having big problems throwing the ball on Thursday night. Although he is your most talented WR...it'll be tough not to start him.

Gaffney might be viable but Malcolm Floyd and Gates should both be back for Monday night vs Denver. Denver's pass D is really bad this year (they just gave up nearly 500 yards through the air to Cassel.)

If it were me I think I would actually start Washington and Amendola. VY likes throwing to Washington in the red zone (and Moss will obviously draw the double teams again.) Amendola probably isn't going to have the potential that Marshall or Gaffney will have this week but he's one of those guys that will get the targets and the ball will be going his way (I don't think SJax will have a great game against the Falcon D.) Bradford is certainly capable of getting him the ball.

Thanks for the help with mine.

I don't necessarily like the upside of any of your other options-so I would start the garbage that is Brandon Marshall..and Gaffney I guess.

I tend to agree with the last post, that Thigpen will get Marshall the ball at all costs. I think, at least in the short term, Thipgen may be better for his potential than Henne. Something just wasn't clicking there. Thigpen buys a lot of time, hopefully this will benefit Marshall.

I would play him. And, I'm buying into Amendola. The guy is there redzone go to guy. I like him.
