Take a look at my roster below and let me know what i can do to improve it via trades. Of course the possibilities are endless but I am looking for decent trade options that my opponents will bite on and will help my team.
I've ridden the LT wave all season long, but he is really slowing down now and sharing carries with Greene, so I would like to move him. Also, Reggie Wayne is a feast/famish guy and in order to stay alive during the one & done playoffs, I feel like I need to move him, too. Percy Harvin still seems to be scoring with a banged up Brett Farve, but i am worried the Vikings will ease off the pedal as their playoff hopes are diminishing by the second. Fitzgerald Is scary, too.
I did pick up Sidney Rice in hopes that he catches fire when he gets back into action, but he is up for trade, too. I guess Reggie Bush & Vincent Jackson could go too as.
I have a trade out right now where I give LT and Wayne and get Jennings and Turner. We'll see if he takes that one.
What other trades do you think I can make with these players so I can get good, reliable players?
8 Teams - Standard Scoring - Yahoo FFB WEEK 11 LINEUP (Record 7-3-0)
QB - Michael Vick WR - Reggie Wayne WR - Larry Fitzgerald RB - Chris Johnson RB - Felix Jones TE - Vernon Davis W/T - Percy Harvin K - Garrett Hartley DEF - Green Bay BN - Braylon Edwards BN - LaDainian Tomlinson BN - Danny Woodhead BN - Vincent Jackson BN - Sidney Rice BN - Reggie Bush
Or am I really over thinking this??? I am in sole possession of first place and I have a pretty good shot at getting into the playoffs, but I got lucky in my pick-ups (I only start 4 players I drafted - Johnson, Davis, Wayne, and Fitzgerald) and I've played free agency pretty well to get LT and Vick (I missed Tamme by 30 seconds). I just hate the inconsistency at WR and #2 RB.
I think inconsistency is the definition of why players are RB2 or WR2's instead of 1's, but I still understand the frustration. That said, I would not be looking to trade Wayne, I actually think he's a buy-low guy right now given that he's putting up tons of yards but not showing up as a fantasy star just because the TDs haven't gone his way of late. They'll come eventually, and you'll be glad you held on to him.
I do agree that trading LT would be well-timed if you could find a taker for decent value. I'd look to get a second RB to pair with CJ if possible so that you've got Felix either out of your lineup or at the more appropriate "flex" spot for him.
Otherwise, I think you probably will do fine standing pat. I mean, you have a lot of guys on your bench that are high-risk high-reward at the moment (R. Bush, V. Jackson, etc.) and if one or two of them show up during the playoff weeks for you you could be really, really solid. Especially with the knowledge that you're in first place and thus have the luxury of being patient, I'd wait it out.
I dropped Blount for Jones this week since Dallas seems to be re-motivated AND they are playing Detroit. Should I have not done that? Should I go get Blount and dump Woodhead instead?
I think your team is good. And I know where you are coming from. Your team looks good, but you have inconsistent players. And no one wants inconsistencies when the playoffs come. Of course you can always upgrade, but I can't suggest trades if I don't know what the other rosters in your league look like. But if I had to suggest players to trade and not trade, I wouldn't trade Wayne. He will eventually get going again, he has Peyton Manning throwing to him. It's a matter of time before he gets going again. LT and Fitz are moveable if you can get something good in return. Try to move LT ASAP before his stock keeps dropping. Greene may actually be the more valuable fantasy back now (I think Greene got more carries than LT in their last game). Fitz worries me because of the Arizona QB headache. For Fitz, target WR's who have great upside but aren't considered the Elite WR's (No one is going to trade Elite WR for Fitz, e.g. Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Hakeem Nicks). See if someone would do Fitz for WR like Brandon Lloyd, or Greg Jennings. As for LT, don't settle for a RB who is worst than him (obviously), try for someone like Lagarette Blount or Brandon Jackson.
I agree with the above post in that you don't want to trade for a lesser RB or WR. I think that LT's age is catching up with him at this point of the season. Fitz is risky because of the QB and the Cards just seem to have lost their mojo.
I have upgraded my roster with via trades using the following techniques: - Don't propose trades for similar positions, the other team will question your intentions. Find a team in your league that is deep at the RB position and propose Fitz for one of his solid RB2s. Maybe a guy that is a solid performer that doesn't have a big name or someone with a favorable playoff schedule. If you can trade LT for a Lloyd or Mike Williams, Mike Wallace type that would be huge. Same with trading LT to a team that is deep at WR. Good luck.
