Best pickup? WHIR 100%

Postby markulous » Wed Nov 17, 2010 1:56 pm

Now that DWill is on I.R. I've got an empty spot. I'm 8-2 with a playoff berth nearly secured so I'm kind of looking ahead. Not much to pick up though. Snelling looks like the most attractive option since he has an easy schedule and if Turner goes down he's gold. Not sure if any of the other WRs make my starting lineup barring injury.

PPR. 12 man league No TE spot. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 RB/WR/TE.

My team:
QB: Vick, Orton
RB: Foster, Rice, Torain, K. Williams, DWill
WR/TE: Calvin, Nicks, Gates, Mike Williams(TB), VJax

Available:
Mike Goodson
Jason Snelling
Danny Amendola
Louis Murphy
Steve Smith(NYG)
Lee Evans
Bernard Scott
James Jones
Sidney Rice

Because you said that you pretty much have the playoffs locked up you have to look for the player with the most upside. Right now the top three that I see for future production are

1. Steve Smith*- Once he comes back from his injury which might be one or two more weeks he will be fine. The giants have already stated how important he is to the gameplan.
2. Jason Snelling- For you it it clear that wr/te is the strength of your team and that while he might not be the second best fantasy player he would be the second most valuable to your team.
3. Mike Goodson- Again for value reasons D.Will out means that someone has to step in J Stewart has a concussion so who knows

I'd go with Amendola in a PPR personally.

Wow, those are some great players on the WW. Definitely pick up Steve Smith, that dude is a monster once he comes back healthy in a couple weeks. Sidney Rice is a must pick up too because he is probably only a game or two away from playing, and he is one of Favre's favorite targets. As for RB, go with Goodson, With Williams out for the year and Stewart having that concussion I think he could see some serious time at RB.

Thanks for the help with mine. I take a little different view on this one. You don't need WR help imo, so the question is best RB available. I lean to Goodson - he's the clear starter even after JStew returns (if he returns), he's good in the passing game, and you're in a PPR format. Remember that you're an injury away from having to rely on a Mike Shanahan RB for your playoff life. A very large part of me says you should decide between Torain and K Williams for the rest of the year, drop the other, and use that spot for Steve Smith just to keep him away from the competition. I don't see dropping any of your WR/TE's for him though. Good luck!
