Big trade, WHIR

Postby dblj9911 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 8:15 am

I'm currently in 2nd place in a 10 team dynasty league, standard scoring, 0.5ppr, all td's are 6 pts. We keep our entire roster (25 players) each year and then do a 3 rd rookie draft, last place pick's first each rd, champ picks last, so if / when I make the playoff's even if I lose each game I would only have the 7th pick in each round.
So I really need a quality #2 rb and have a potential deal for SJax on the table. It would be my S. Johnson and a 1st rd pick for SJax and trying to get his 2nd rd pick.. His playoff games are vs KC and vs SF. So what should I do? Thanks, WHIR.
MY ROSTER: (start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1k, 2idp)
QB- Eli, Ryan, Palmer
RB-AP, Benson, Brown, DWill, MBush, R. Grant, J. Starks, Hardesty
WR- Fitz, Colston, Calvin, S. Rice, S. Johnson, M. Thomas
K- Crosby
IDP- Willis, Beason

Thanks for the help on mine. I like this trade for you. You have enough at WR that it won't hurt you all that much and your draft pick isn't worth a lot. Gives you a great RB2. Go for it.

I agree, if you can trade away Steve Johnson and a pick, then do it. I'm not a big fan of rookies anyways. The only rookie this year who is really doing anything is Foster, and maybe Dez Bryant. Bryant won't even start on a lot of fantasy teams. This year I've seen too many people screw their teams up with depending on Ryan Mathews (like me!), CJ Spiller and Jahvid Best. You have a ton of depth at WR, so losing Johnson doesn't hurt, and you'd gain a great RB in SJax. Do the trade!

I agree, you do this trade. Rookies are always a gamble in the draft. With Bradford's maturation in the NFL it's going to open things up for the Rams. Jackson still has a few years left in his tank, and the addition of a viable QB can only help things. Now all they need is to aquire a real receiving threat.

Help me out.

Honestly, I don't know. I don't think it is as clear cut as everyone else thinks. A lot of people think Johnson is a product of the system and is having a fluke year but if you look at his Targets, he seems the focal point of that offense. I am not necessarilly saying don't do it- I think its a true coinflip and in a a dynesty to league to behonest I think SJax is on the downside of his career. That being said, you have absurd depth at WR so you can afford to make a move... although I'm wondering if there are any other RBs out there you might be able to get instead of the same caliber? i.e. an ahmad bradshaw/Lesean Mccoy?

I may look at the Bradshaw owner, he is a Bills fan and could use the help, but I am playing him this week also, so it will be tough to make the trade with him I've tried for McCoy, but his owner is also deep at wr and rb and won't trade with me. Another owner has Forte, Moreno and Matthews, but he has three of his top wr's hurt (S. Smith NY, Nicks, M. Williams Sea), so he could be another possibility.
