Am I getting enough for CJ4.24 here? WHIR!

Postby LynahFaithful » Mon Nov 22, 2010 6:15 pm

Ok, so I have been offered Rshard Mendenhall, Steve Johnson, Pierre Thomas and Zach Miller (Raiders) for CJ4.24. 1/2 PPR league non-keepter weeks 14-16 are playoffs. EDIT***** Owner just emailed saying I could substitute Percy Harvin or Dez Bryant in place of Steve Johnson****
My roster:

QB: Orton
RB (start 2): CJ, Bradshaw, Fred Jackson, Ryan Torain, Javon Ringer, Brandon Jacobs, Michael Bush, Tim Hightower
WR (start 2): Fitz, Boldin, Nate Washington, Danny Woodhead (RB/WR)
1 RB/WR Flex
TE: Winslow

My team is a lock for the playoffs right now, and so is his. Relevent players on his roster:

RB: Mendenhall, McCoy, Pierre Thomas
WR: Johnson, B. Lloyd, Hakeem Nicks, Dez Bryant, Sidney Rice, Percey Harvin
TE: Tamme and Miller

My trade deadline is coming up pretty soon... what do you guys think? Leave a link so I can hit you back. THANKS!

Dude this is a great trade for you. For some reason, people believe CJ is god. He has been good this season, but not great. You are getting a really good RB in Mendy, a soon to be starter in Pierre Thomas once he gets healthy. Steve Johnson may become your best WR. You need WR stability bad. Boldin is so inconsistent and Fitz is inconsistent too with no QB throwing to him. Johnson will bring you consistency. And you get a top 5 TE in Miller. And once Pierre gets healthy, you can play either him for FJax at flex based on matchups. This is a great trade.

Owner just told me I could get Dez Bryant or Percin Harvin instead of Johnson if I wanted. Which should I take? Again, I'm more concerned about playoffs in 14-16 than right now! Thanks.

Boy....I think I like Dez (best player on that team) here even though Johnson has been a beast - week 15 home game against Washington and 2 home games in possible bad weather for Johnson?

Harvin's hurt and that offense is a mess. Personally I like Johnson over both of that guys but Dez is still a good option as well.

So Johnson/Bryant?

One final counter I was going to propose:

is add on Bryant to the trade for him, and I would give him BOldin + his choice of Woodhead/Washington/Bush/Torain

so it would be:

I give:
CJ
Spiller
Boldin
Woodhead/Washington/Bush/Torain

I get:
Mendy
P Thomas
Zach Miller
Steve Johnson
Dez Bryant

Do you think these is any way he accepts that one? Or should I just accept the one with johnson/bryant? Thanks all

In your other post I told you to take the trade, and I still think you take the trade. Losing CJ isn't all that bad, and I don't see him being that much better than Mendy with no Vince Young throwing. Teams are going to stack the box, even with Moss there. Some guy named Rusty something is their Quarterback now, and the only threat this Titans team has is CJ. Not much difference between CJ and Mendy. And Mendy will get more chnaces at TD's because Burger will set them up inside the Rezone way more than who ever is QBing for the Titans. You also gain a top 5 TE, and Pierre Thomas is a stash away RB for the playoffs. And I'd stick with Steve Johnson. Because you can count on him each week because the Bills will always be playing from behind, and Fitzpatrick has to throw to either him or Lee Evans. Whereas Dez is one of many weapons in Dallas (Austin, Roy Williams, Witten, Felix out the backfield). I also think Johnson has the best QB throwing to him out of those 3 guys too. Can't trust Harvin with the injuries/migranes and Favre throwing to him.

Trade deadline is in 2 hours... anyone else think I should pull the trigger on the Johnson trade?
