Who to drop for K Williams

Postby garretterik » Mon Nov 22, 2010 8:13 pm

I need some RB depth (despite losing Nicks :~( ).
Who do I drop R Mathews, or R Brown? (As is says in the title I am picking up K Williams since I doubt Portis is coming back again and Torain is still out)

hard to say without seeing who you're thinking about picking up. maybe throw up a few names so we can see. if i had to pick one to drop though i guess it would be matthews. he always seems hurt.

Mathews obviously has been hurt all year and even when he plays Tolbert gets the goal line touches and sproles is the third down back. Not much left.

But if I have to pick one to drop its Brown. He splits carries and Miami just doesn't commit to the run this year. There doesn't seem to be upside.

At least Mathews has the upside if he can get healthy.

Have to agree with Jarobert. Both of those guys split a backfield but you have to think Matthews has more upside when he plays. The Dolphins just got shut out. I wouldn't start Ronnie Brown over a lot of guys.

Depends who you are picking up. Keep Ryan Mathews. At worst he sits on your bench and stays injured. But he could come back and play big. His potential is through the roof. I doubt he will get his chance this year with his ankle that messed up and Tolbert taking carries away. But there is no upside for Ronnie Brown. He splits carries with Ricky Williams, and apparently Sporano would rather throw the ball with is 3rd string QB than run the ball. It's a mess in Miami. I had Mathews at one time, and currently have Brown. If anything decent comes up on the WW, i'm dropping Brown.

First of all, just want to make sure this is a non-keeper league? Assuming it is, and assuming you are a lock for the playoffs I honestly wouldn't drop one of your RBs unless you had to. You might get trade value for Brown or Matthews who are theoretically RB2s. But, to answer your question specifically, I would drop matthews before I dropped brown. Then again, I would probably drop Flacco before I'd drop them if I could b/c there are likely similar starters on waivers. Always easier to repplace QBs in 1QB leagues.
