Trade Dispute

Postby elraider77 » Wed Nov 24, 2010 8:57 pm

Team 1 is playoff bound and is giving away: LT, L.Evans & Meachem. In exchange he will receive Team #2 best player in F.Gore. Team #2 is 3-8 and is a long long shot to make playoffs. As the league LM I have an issue with a potential "dump off" from a non playoff team swinging his best player to a playoff team. In addition I think Gore has way more value than LT and waiver wire caliber receivers in Meachem and Evans.

Should this deal be allowed to go thru or should it be vetoed given these circumstances?

I would appreciate your feedback because there are some disgruntled GM's in my league who think this deal should go thru?

thanks and leave your link

It's not a good trade for team #2 but I think it's close enough where you shouldn't veto it. Who else is on team #2 and how many teams are there? because if it seems that they would drop Evans and meacham after the trade to make it go through then I would probably veto it but with the info you provided it seems lopsided but not enough to veto it. Meacham has scored over ten points in 3 of his last 6 games and should be better with Bush back and depending on team #2's WRs, he might use Evans.

That's really not a bad trade depending on Team 2's WR as was said before. Don't think you can veto that one.

QB: Vick/Kolb
RB: SJax/Forte/DWilly/Ivory
WR: R.White/H.Nicks/S.Johnson/B.White
TE: Keller/Heap
K: Cundiff
D: Giants/Raiders

16 team, 3 keeper league. Start QB/2 RB/2 WR/TE/K/D

if this is a keeper league and the team not making the playoffs has something to do with the trade for example he wants to keep LT and meachem or evans i can see this trade going thru. But....if this is a yearly league i would not let this go thru. Why does a 3-8 team have to trade to a playoff team and give up probably his best player? sounds like collusion to me man. In my keeper leagues we can trade, any team in any position. But....draft picks are usually involved. Teams out of it dump their talent keep their keepers and get draft picks from teams lookin to make a run. If this is a yearly league there is not 1 good reason why a non playoff team has to make a trade. Veto it!

LT is about 25 pts behind Gore in most standard PPR leagues. How is trading a player that scores 2ish points a week more than LT, when you are getting 2 additional players vetoable? Trades shouldn't be vetoed without proof of cheating. Don't see it here

It's lame, but as long as they are 2 consenting sober adults, u can't.
We've gone thru it in my league three times this year.
But u have to let it go. It's the imperfection of fantasy.
Btw, if u think that's bad try this one:

Ryan Matthews and Braylon Edwards were traded recently by the last place team to the 1st place team who received:
Frank Gore and Dez Bryant!
And absent Collusion, I couldn't so a thing.
That should make yours feel sooo much better.
