QB/Waiver Help WHIR

Postby Balcatim » Mon Nov 29, 2010 2:21 pm

12 Team League (QB/2 RB/FLEX/2 WR/TE/K/D)
Standard ESPN H2H Scoring, 3 Keepers
Starters in bold
QB: Matt Ryan, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Shaun Hill
RB: Adrian Peterson, Steven Jackson, Peyton Hillis, Keiland Williams
WR: Reggie Wayne, Brandon Lloyd, Percy Harvin, James Jones
TE: Antonio Gates, Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham
K: Sebastian Janikowski
DEF: Jets

With a huge win this week, I'm in the playoffs which are Weeks 14-16. I only picked up Gronkowski and Graham because I didn't think Gates was going to go. I'm going to drop both Gronkowski and Graham and I'm thinking I should maybe only hold on to 2 QBs. Which (if any) QBs should I drop and who should I pick up?

On my team (Next 4 weeks of matchups)
Matt Ryan (@TB, @Car, @Sea, NO)
Ryan Fitzpatrick (@Min, Cle, @Mia, NE)
Shaun Hill (Chi, GB, @TB, @Mia)

On waivers
Toby Gerhart (Buf, NYG, Chi, @Phi) I think I need to grab him since Peterson went down
Ben Obomanu (Car, @SF, Atl, @TB)
Sam Bradford (@Ari, @NO, KC, SF)
Maurice Morris (Chi, GB, @TB, @Mia)
Seahawks D (Car) Maybe a matchup play next week only since the Jets have NE

Thanks a lot and be sure to leave a link

You honestly don't need Hill and Fitzpatrick. Ryan is a stud, and should be treated as such, being started every week.

I wouldn't drop Gronkowski, Brady likes him, and if you want to keep two TE's, he's a good backup. Other backups include Kellen Winslow and Joel Dressen.

You are stacked at RB, I wouldn't worry about adding anyone. Maybe trade out Keiland for Maurice Morris, as the latter doesn't need to worry about a timeshare situation. Gerhart is a good handcuff though. Take your pick.

Stick with the Jets defense. They matchup well against anyone.

i'd get gerhart as some AP insurance! you don't need both of those QB's. Obamanu may be a possibility. I am pondering adding a 2nd kicker but that's because our rosters are frozen after wk 13....maybe your situation is different.

Agree with other post, why a QB other than to keep him away from competition? Get Gerhart. Maybe Morris.

help: (I'm considering those two as well)

I like Ryan especially weeks 14 and 15 but this week I started Shaun Hill over him and he scored 3 more points than Ryan (both scored very low however).

Thanks for all of the advice.

I would just be rolling with Ryan from now on. Yeah, some weeks one of those guys will do better. But play the odds, and start the better QB. You NEED APs handcuff - drop a QB for him. I'd rather have Hill - but Fitz and Hill are pretty close in my book.
