Ok a non-playoff team just picked up Westbrook obviously he has a higher priority then me but is this right? I mean once your out of the playoffs is it really fair to take a guy from someone whos been waiting for something like this all year? Im 9-3 but my RB2 and 3 are Mike Goodson and Joe Addai so I really could have used this going forward. Now he says someone in the playoffs paid him 5 bucks to do it. Is this all BS? or am I just overreacting cuz Im pretty pissed.

if he had a higher waiver claim than you than yes this is perfectly legal. in some league formats there are consolation games that take place while the true playoffs are going on and the teams that are out are still active in the league. just because you are out of the playoffs doesn't still mean you can be active in the league. yes it is annoying and if he only did it for 5 bucks he got ripped off. sounds like you are in a shady league is all.

I agree that he is well within his right to claim a player off the waiver wire. I absolutely hate when people quit during a season just because they can't "win" the league; so the fact that he is attempting to remain competative is admirable.
The fact that he may or may not have received money to pick up a player is pretty underhanded though...

Thanks to Freyaka

it's with in his right to pick up that player if he has the waiver priority. roster blocking is a viable strategy. but if he has nothing else to play for it's kind of weird to still be making roster moves once you are out of it. especially if it's not a keeper or dynasty league.

To me they are still playing and I would rather have that than a team that is out of the playoffs and just laying down. I have done too many leagues where the guys team sucks early and they don't ever do anything with there roster for byes, injuries, etc. So it sucks that he got Westbrook, but would it make it any better if a top team got Westbrook with a higher waiver priority?
