Pickup Brian Westbrook?....

Postby Tom Emanski AllStars » Fri Dec 03, 2010 12:15 pm

8 team family league with fairly deep rosters. Family pride and small amount of money are on the table.

Brian Westbrook was picked up immediately off of waivers and then promptly dropped by my father-in-law. I would like to pick him up.

Here's my situation, If I win this week, I will secure a first round bye and be assured of winning some money. If I lose all of that is off that is off the table, and I'll have to win 2 games to get to the championship.

Questions:
1) Should pickup Brian Westbrook (please take a look at my scoring settings below) ? If so who should I drop?
2) I was hoping to hold Gerhart until the final news about AP comes out? He'd would be in line for a huge day against BUF if he's the only back.

Scoring settings:
    6 pt = all TDs (rushing/receiving/returning/passing)
    -1pt = fumble
passing:
    1pt = each 50 yd passing
    3pt = 40+yd passing TD bonus
    4pt = 300-399 yd passing game
    no INT penalty
rushing:
    1pt = each 20 yd rushing
    3pt = 40+ yd rushing TD bonus
    2pt = 100-199 yd rushing game
    3pt = +200 yd rushing game
receiving:
    1pt = each 20 yd receving
    3pt = 40+ yd TD rec bonus
    2pt = 100-199 yd receiving game
    3pt = +200 yd receiving game

Nice squad. Have you considered dropping a TE? It would be a tough choice, but the loss of a 2nd TE is easier to handle thant he loss of a 4th string RB IMHO. At the end of the day, I'm not sure that dropping Gerhart for Dixon, before knowing AP's status, is a smart move. Gerhart could put up big numbers if AP turns out to have a legit injury and the Vikings decide to end his season just to be safe. I'm not personally in love with Westbrook and I think you're already pretty deep at RB anyways. I certainly wouldn't want to rely on Westbrook this week with his matchup, given how important a win would be. As another option, dropping Dixon has to be at least looked at I think.

Please help with mine if you have a chance.
When in doubt, punt!

Drop the second TE and pickup Westbrook. He didn't have a big game, but he may later on down the line.
